Does anyone have a review of the dinner? We have ressies on the 28th before the P&P party.

I have a neighbor that ate there last week and loved it. She ordered the Salmon and her husband had a meat entree, probably the prime rib. The reviews on here have been mixed so I was happy to hear someone I knew well was so thrilled with the experience. Do a search and you will find some reviews from when the refurb just started.

We ate there in June and loved it. The strawberry soup was excellent. It was probably the best buffet we had all week.

The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the layout. It got very crowded around the food. Hopefully they're working on that with the rehab.

Just ate there on July 29 & loved it!!

DD had some sort of shrimp & pasta thing.
I ordered prime rib & DH had chicken.
Can't remember what DS ordered.

Dessert is served family-style & we were too full to eat it.

The Fairy Godmother circulates & visits the tables for autographs & pics.

for those that have been to 1900 Park Fare and the GF Cafe... is the GF Cafe smaller? We were always ignored at 1900 PF and considered skipping it this trip because of that... but if GF Cafe is smaller we might get quicker/more attention?

Yes, the GF Cafe is smaller, a good deal smaller from what I remember.

We went last Tuesday before the P&P party. Our ressie was at 5 pm. The character interaction was wonderful. Everyone came by our table 2 or 3 times, even when the restaurant was full. Service was good and the food was delicious. I give it a thumbs up! :thumbsup2

It was amazing!!

The food was great, and the characters were wonderful.

appetizers:
I had the strawberry soup (I am still dreaming of this soup. It was just perfect)
My dd had a dish of fresh fruit

entrees:
I had the seared chicken breast with au-gratin potatoes and asparagus
My dd had the cheese pizza (other options were beef and macaroni, chicken breast with rice, etc)

dessert:
served family style
bread pudding with vanilla sauce (this was like a loaf of cinnamon bread...so good)
and a tray of mini pastries- including a mickey face chocolate mousse, mini fruit tart, creme brulee, etc.

The characters made it around twice before we were to the dessert.
We saw...
Cinderella with Prince Charming
Suzy and Perla
Princess Aurora (filling in for the fairy godmother, I think)

It was wonderful,
and I hope the food is just as good when it returns to the 1900 park fare location.

I'll be back with a couple food pictures :)

Thank you for the reviews. We have an ADR at the end of the month for DD's 5th birthday and I'm really looking forward to giving it a try. The GF Cafe is much prettier than 1900 PF, IMO, so I'm happy with the change of atmosphere for our little celebration. I was hoping character interaction would be good. :goodvibes

Thanks for the pictures Super Crunch! It looks like you two had a great time!

Do they allow you to ask for seconds for certain items? For instance, I don't eat chocolate but LOVE creme brulee. Would they bring me a second creme brulee is I asked for it?

We ate there on Friday 9/31, right before the Pirate and Princess Party. It was suppose to be Me, DH and all three of our girls but our DD3 was exhausted that night so we opted to treat our oldest DD to a Mommy and Daughter night out. I surprised her with a princess gown and P&P Party Tix and we went to our already planned ADR for the Gala Feast at the Grand Floridian Cafe.

I had the Salad and Shrimp and Prosciutto Pasta. I thought the salad was very Blah and boring, not alot of taste, my pasta was ok, not fantastic, the sauce was a bit too salty but that was the prosciutto, it had good flavors, my DD6 ate most of shrimp but what I had was good. Our dinner rolls were like rocks, the multigrain ones were better because they were warm but the others were awful.

DD had the salad, the macaroni and beef, she enjoyed it but they put a ton of Mozzerella cheese on top and it made a thick layer over the pasta, a bit of a chocking hazard with small children, she hated the salad and she is a huge salad fan.

We both really enjoyed the dessert, the fruit tart was our complete favorite!!

We did CRT for dinner on our last trip and our meal was much better there but overall this was a descent dinner, I don't know if we would do it again for the food, but maybe if she wanted to have dinner with cinderella and we could not get CRT we might.

I have ADR for Oct 4. I thought this was a buffet. Do you have to order? Also I thought is was at 1900 PF.

1900 PF was/is being renovated and the character meal was moved to the GF Cafe in the meantime. Instead of buffet there was a menu. However, I've been reading reports that 1900 PF is going to reopen within the next few days, well ahead of schedule. I think it was originally slated to reopen on or about October 1. I can't wait for the reviews and photos! :goodvibes

The characters have changed for dinner... gone will be the mice and fairy godmother, taking their place is the stepmother and stepsisters. I haven't heard anything about breakfast characters.
