Any reviews about Shutters??

I have eaten there 2x.The first was before it was called shuttters. Both times I felt the food and service were absolutely the worst i have had anywhere. My Sil also just ate there last month and said the same thing.I know there are a few people here that like it.i am not one of them.

Hi there! We ate at Shutters in December 2007. While it was nothing special, it was a good meal and we enjoyed ourselves. We were staying at CBR so it was easy and relaxing for us to eat down there after a day at the parks. :goodvibes

I try to take the good with the bad in restaurant reviews because we all have such varied tastes. Also it is completely possible for a restaurant to have a horrible few nights of service but not be a bad restaurant overall.
That being said.. I have consistently seen bad review after bad review for Shutters. I guess you can't know until you try it.. but there doesn't seem to be alot of love for Shutters (or Boatwright's at POR) around here.

My daughter ate there in September 2007. We enjoyed our meal and the server we had was great.

I've eatten there twice. The 1st time was about 8 years ago and was horrible. Last Oct my whole family did a GG and for some reason this was my mom's pick for her resturant day. I thought, oh well.

I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very fresh and tasty. The menu consists of a few Florida themed items ( conch soup, some of the sauces for the fish, etc ) There was 9 of us and everyone enjoyed what they had.

The service was also outstanding and very attentive.

Hopefully, it's making a turn around.

Also wanted to add, that my DF (who normally maintains a poker face at restaurants ) commented that the french onion soup was the best he ever had.

CBR is our hotel of choice, but we've never eaten at Shutters. I keep checking their menu, but for a while just kept seeing basically the same stuff you can get at the food court for much less. (Not to mention some scary reviews here.) Although it looks like their menu has changed quite a bit in that department.

If you do plan to go, make sure and let us know how it went. I feel guilty about NOT eating there, but try to make up for it by visiting the Banana Cabana. ;)

We went despite all the bad reviews about it. :thumbsup2 We very much enjoyed it! I'm glad we didn't listen this time! Again, it's nothing special but we did enjoy it.

We ate there twice last fall - mostly because we were staying at CBR.

1st meal was very good, and they even gave us champange for our honeymoon :goodvibes

2nd meal wasn't as good, but it was still decent.

I'd go there if I was staying at CBR again, but I wouldn't make the trip if you are staying at another resort.

I see these reviews are several years old and was wondering if things had improved? Has anyone eaten there recently? How was the food?

We have vowed to do some off the beaten path places this year, so this is one we are considering, actually have ADR's, but still could change them if need be.

Thanks for any info!

It seems that a lot of the more recent reviews have been much better than from a couple of years ago. When we stayed at CBR last year, we did not eat there (partly because of the bad reviews). However, a couple of different people we got to talking around the resort or at CBR bus stops at the parks mentioned that they ate their and said it was very good.
