Any restaurants at MCO open late/24 hours?

Our flight doesn't arrive until after 10:00 pm and there won't be anyplace open to eat after we get checked into Saratoga Springs via ME. I know there are some very acceptable restaurants in the terminal at MCO, but will they be open after 10pm? We will have been flying since noon and the in flight sandwich will have worn off by landing time.

The one time we arrived that late the only place we found to eat was Taco Bell at the Crossroads.

I'm bummed to hear this...we too have a 9:30pm arrival and have the same dilemma. You would think that something would be open at a 24 hour airport!

We're staying that night at the Hyatt there at the airport, and the hotel restaurant/room service is an option. But I don't want to start my vacation paying for overly-priced food. Also, at that time, I'm not going to be in the mood for a steak!

as opposed to paying for overpriced food in WDW?

McCoy's Bar in gril (at the Hyatt) is open for dinner until 11p and for a late night snack until 12:30a

Free dining! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the info...I've looked at the menus and I may consider it, but I really just wanted something to grab and go after a long day travelling. But good to know there's an option.

MCO really isn't a 24 hour airport. I have flown in at 1-2 AM because of delays but everything was closed.

The amenitites at MCO may be closed, but the airport itself is open 24 hours. My local airport closes completely by 11 pm, unless there is a delayed flight and doesn't open again until 5am, with the first flight going out by 6am.

I've been at MCO before 4 for a 5am flight. While everything was closed, the airport itself was still open. Its been inconvenient to want to have something to eat or bring on board and having nothing open to buy it from.

There is one "restaurant" open 24/7, I think a Starbucks. You can get a muffin and maybe a sandwich (?)

It would appear our only options would be check in, then catch a bus to Downtown Disney and grab a McDonalds. I just can't see spending a lot of money on food when we are going to be very tired. I will check out the Starbuck's location to see if they are open 24/7. Their food is actually pretty good for grab 'n go (spoken like a Seatte-ite, riight?).

MCOs website indicates a Starbucks is open 24/7, I don't think it's located in the food court. My memory is at least on of the food court locations is either open 24/7 or at least to 11p (Seattle Best or Krispy Kreme?)

The mini-mart at Hess is open 24/7. There is one near the Boardwalk and one near PI. Picabu in the Dolphin hotel is open 24/7.

I'd double check the hours of the McDonalds at DTD before taking a bus.

edited to suggest
I'd just bring an extra sandwich/snacks on the plane. Either eat at your normal dinner time or an hour before landing. The last thing I'd want to do after a late flight is take a bus to DTD and make McDonalds my first meal at WDW. I'd hate to rely on Starbucks and find out they ran out of sandwiches.

Rather than eat that late at night, I'd pack something - sandwiches, wraps, a green salad (with a mini-ice-pack or two - in an insulated lunch bag to eat on the plane). Or, if you have a layover or long enough stop, get something from that airport. I get in late for my next trip; I'm bringing a sandwich for the trip and a muffin or something for when I get settled in. As long as I can make a cup of tea in my room, I'll be all set. I'd rather eat light that evening and have a good breakfast there in the morning. (ADR already made for Boma breakfast!:dance3:)

Have a good trip!

Without a car, trying to get to a resort to eat would be very frustrating. I programmed the number for Papa John's pizza dlivery, so I'll call as soon as we get off ME. They are open until 1:00 am.

We will leave the house at 8:00 AM, take a public bus, ferry, and another bus. (We live on an island in Puget Sound with neither taxis or shuttles.) We land at our dinner time (10 PM in Orlando is 7 PM in Seattle). At least we have a direct flight (5 1/2 hours). That's my plan and I'm sticking to it!:dance3:

Just remember nothing is free and your paying rack rate with park tickets for that room, the cost is buried into what you are paying its all in marketing.

This is my second year doing free dining...so I understand how it works. The dining package is a bonus to a vacation I was already going to take. I am staying at a value, for $82/night. And yes, I know I have to pay for tips. So I view it as getting my meals for 80% off. I have an AP, so I had to pay for a single day ticket, which can be used for my future AP renewal.

Puget Peach, that sounds like a great plan. I hope this is just the smallest blip in an otherwise fantastic vacation. Enjoy! See you there!

Looks like it'll be 11 hours from the time you leave your house until you land at MCO. Your flight might get delayed. Your airline might run out of food. Your bus or ferry might be late, leaving you very little time at SEA. I'd bring a couple of sandwiches. PB&J works without a cooler. Everything works perfectly you can throw out the sandwiches.

Thanks for your concern! The ferry and bus systems run on schedule really well and weather in Seattle is supposed to be really nice. We always travel with a stash of power bars and if we don't eat 'em on the way, they are great to have when you don't want to take time standing in a CS line just because you're getting the hungries! It's just at the end of such a long day, something resembling a meal would be nice! So Papa John's is the plan with a Power Bar back-up! And a couple of Smart Pop Kettle Korn snack bags in the luggage!popcorn::

Starbucks is just outside the sterile area when you get off the train from the gates and walk past the security area on the 60-129 gates side of the terminal. When you get off the train if you're on that side, stay to the right and you'll see it just as you walk beyond the glass partition that separates the sterile area from the rest of the terminal. If you come in at one of the 1-59 gates, you'll have to walk through/past the food court area to get to Starbucks.

I'd plan on packing something to eat or getting dinner at the airport and eating it on the plane.

Thank you so much for the locater!! We're coming in from the 1-59 side, so we'll check out the (closed) food court on the way to Starbucks! Hey, being from Seattle, it is a little bit of home in Orlando.:hippie:

Hey, I love my chai latte, so I understand! Enjoy it, because without a car it'll be your last chance for Starbucks until you return to the airport! ;)
