Any regrets booking an inside standard stateroom?

So, I just put a hold on room 2525 on the Dream for September. I have only cruised with Disney twice, both times I had more people with me and we were in the deluxe family oceanview. This time I am going to brave cruising with just myself and my 4 year old, and since I am totally addicted to DCL now I am trying to get on board the cheapest way. Just wondering if anyone else has booked an inside and regretted it, because of smaller space or lack of view? Is it worth it to spend a few hundred dollars more for the oceanview? Also, if I could maybe talk my sister or a friend into coming along, would there be enough room to add them in this type of room if I choose to? Thanks

Nope never regret it. Been on 20 cruises and 16 has been inside. But my 16 has never been on deck 2. Always 6-9 depending what ship.

Had some longer ones also a 15 night.

Wow, good to know, that makes me feel more confident to go ahead and book it. This is only a 4 night cruise,I was thinking I may want oceanview for a longer cruise. But if you were on cruises that long and being inside stateroom didn't bother you, then I should be ok for sure I would think

I've done 2 inside rooms. Do I prefer a verandah? Of course. Would I do an inside again if it got me on the ship? absolutely! Honestly we have also done an ocean view room and I felt we really didn't spend much time looking outside. I would probably choose an inside over an ocean view to save money, if it came down to that.

We have stayed in insides (on DCL and other cruises, too) many times. I do prefer having light in the room. But, on the Dream you will have a virtual porthole. That really makes a big difference - seems like you do have light and a view in the room!

I did regret the inside cabin a bit on my Norway cruise because it was too cold to sit outside most of the time and it would have been nice to have a window in the room to sit there during the day. BUT I did not regreat saving the money over what the oceanview room did cost. Since you are going on the Dream, the chance of cold weather like in Norway would be rather slim. On a Dream cruise, I would not think twice about an inside stateroom. I did not miss the split bath at all.

I regretted our inside stay BUT the price difference was $1k (holiday cruise) and I couldn't justify the price differential. I think for me $700-$800 more would be totally worth it for oveanview BUT it's really a personal preference.

I was on the Wonder though and have heard the virtual porthole does help.

I've stayed in the inside staterooms on both the Magic and on the Dream. I did NOT like staying in the inside room on the Magic - my sister and I referred to it as the refrigerator box - because there was no light inside. However, on the Dream, the virtual porthole made it a lot better and if I were going on a short cruise again, I wouldn't mind staying in one.

My husband and I just did an inside room for the first time earlier this month (had a veranda on prior 3 cruises), and I really liked it! Deck 2 was super convenient to all indoor activities, and I didn't really miss the veranda that much. My family is booked on next May's TA in an inside room on Deck 2.

I enjoyed staying inside, especially on a shorter cruise. It is worth it to me to get the best value, and sometimes, the virtual portholes are more sought after than outside cabins. Also, love deck 2. So convenient! My littlest is 3 and a bit adventurous, so, veranda's make me nervous. I have an oceanview booked for my next cruise, but only because it was slightly more than an inside. If there had been more than a $50 savings (overall, not per night), i would have gone for the inside.

We did an inside (10B) for the first time this month on the Wonder having done oceanview family, deluxe family and veranda previous and were nervous (was a dry run to see if we could manage a longer sailing with) and surprisingly we did not regret the inside cabin but quite enjoyed it. For the first time ever on a Disney cruise we actually slept in and not once but every morning (we are early risers with the sun) and the darkness of the room and not having a window allowed us to sleep well (the blackout curtains of the oceanviews do bleed a lot of light). We have done an 8A previous (and will next Spring again) with the single bath and one can accommodate around though the split baths are always nice.

I loved our 10A on the Dream. We're switching to an 11B on the Wonder for Alaska, but my mom will have a 7a right across the hall. My biggest concern is not having a split bath with two teenagers.

I have never regretted it - on the Dream and Fantasy an 11C suits us just fine. We love the magic port holes! On the classic ships I do like to be able to look out, but I haven't regretted being inside even then since I made the choice to save money.

My first cruise I booked and oceanview state room with porthole deck 2 but was upgraded to a room with a verandah on the Magic, it was nice and I also cruised on the Dream on Deck 10 with one of the extended verandah's and like that as well. My other 2 cruises were inside staterooms, inside Wonder deck 6 and the Dream Deck 2. I loved those rooms. Those rooms are very affordable and I had no problems staying in them. I would book them again. Deck 2 on the Dream was amazing so close to Enchanted Garden, the shop are just upstairs etc. Oh and for you daughter the magic porthole in the inside room will be fun.

My only negative was that I didn't like the virtual porthole. We almost never saw anything go by (they always show images with the starfish from nemo, etc) and that's after watching for awhile. Had to turn it off at night because it had the sound/feel of an older television kept on and I can't sleep with that sensation. Which meant we had no slowly dawning light to help us wake up.

I would prefer to not have that virtual porthole.

Other than that it was perfectly good. Got some terrific sleep too!

I learned on this board that a good alternative is to leave the TV on the Bridge View channel. I stayed in a two bedroom in the room with no window and felt discombobulated with no sunlight waking me up. I remembered the tip and used the TV the rest of the cruise.

We booked an inside room once. We got there and I could have lived with it but my husband immediately saw my discomfort. No natural light, very claustrophobic for me. But I really didn't complain. We spent one night in it. Unknown to me he went to front desk and upgraded our room and a second room for our daughters to ocean view. The porter came with a cart and moved all our stuff.

I know you save money but I just won't do an inside room again. The extra price is worth it.

We just got off the Wonder last week and loved our inside room on Deck 2. I was so worried before we sailed and kept looking for reviews of this exact topic. This was our 5th cruise and have always had a veranda before now on deck 7 or 8. For the first time I didn't feel the movement of the ship, and when we got off the ship we didn't feel like we were swaying like every other time. There were 6 of us on this trip and everyone said they loved the location of our rooms more than any other! It was so convenient to everything. We just walked up one flight to dinner and down one flight to get off at port stops. Like someone else said, we slept better on this cruise than ever before. There wasn't light coming in and waking us up. We also spent more time out of our room too instead of just looking out of a window or sitting on the balcony. We watched the sail away from ports on the top deck this time instead of on our balcony and it was so much more fun. I just booked another cruise in December and booked an inside room on deck 2 again!
