Any recommendations on a small, inexpensive camcorder

Are they even called camcorders anymore?? The one I have now is so old, it's HUGE. I'd like a SMALL one, basically to take on family trips and film DS's when they have cute programs at school. I just got a new small digital camera for Mothers Day, so I don't need it to be able to take pictures.

Really, don't need bells and whistles just need it to take clear videos of my kids. A good zoom would be nice too. And not expensive.

Is that too much to ask!?!?!?

We have a small Sony- HC-20 and a small Canon. Both use mini-dv tapes and both do an excellent job. The Canon I think we paid around $250, the Sony was more but this was 4 years ago. They've come down quite a bit in price since then.
