Hi

I am looking for some recommendations for online florists :flower: . My mom's 60th Birthday is coming up and I would like to send her a nice bouquet. I am in Florida, but Mom is in Georgia....so an online retailer would be great or if anyone knows any good florists near Peachtree Corners then that would work too!

Thanks for any info you can provide!!

I use 1-800-Flowers.com and everyone raves about the flowers they receive. They are always sending me specials.

Help one of your local schools....sign up at www.boxtops4education.com and order your flowers from ftd or one of the other flower places. They send a percentage of your order to your designated school. This is how I order my flowers all the time. Also try to do most of my shopping thru them.

1-800 flowers not so great. My husband ordered a bouquet for Mother's Day and the florist never communicated with 1-800 Flowers that they would deliver a day late and for $50 they sent a bouquet of carnations which was nothing like the picture he ordered! I found a review board later that ranted about the poor service of 1-800-FLOWERS. Better to contact a local florist in the area you are sending them and skip the wire fee! :flower:

We use PRO FLowers They come with a free galss vase ,flowers have always been fresh and delivery on time.

I am a member of upromise.com

I found KABLOOM florist that way and everyone seems to like them. They were offering 15% back to your upromise account.

The shipping charges are what bother me most!

Most online florists charge extra fees on top of what they actually give the florist to use ( I know as I work for a florist). Example: you pay $56 and they give the local florist only $48 to use for your gift.

Go to WWW.Boydsflowers.com and you can order thru them going to ANY florsit in the country and they will give 100% of what you pay to the local florist, plus there is no sales tax. I have worked for this florist for over 15 years.

They also have a reward program where you earn points for your purchases.

Thanks for all of the information! Seems like most online sites have the same arrangements. I will take a look at the suggested sites and also try and call some local florists.

Thanks again!

I too am at the point where I'm going to try local florists. While I haven't had bad service with FTD, I'm not thrilled either. And the service fees cost a small fortune! I'd rather describe what I want over the phone to a florist who can tell me what they can make based on what they have in stock, not order one thing on line and have my loved one get something else. Everytime I order, they always substitute, but as far as I can tell they do give the same $$$ amount of flowers, so I can't complain too much. Still, I'd rather know what I'm buying! :)

I usually go to yellowpages.com and look up florists for the area I want to send to. Then I call a florist directly. Of course you're just taking a chance, because you know nothing about who you are calling, but I've had great luck with this. I tell them I'm calling from out of town, what I want, when I want it sent, etc. Tell them where you want it delivered first, since they'll know the area, they know how far away that is from them. I have had people refer me to someone else in the area that was closer. I've always had great results. I just charge it to my credit card. Good luck.

I am a ProFlowers guy. Their flowers lasted longer then any other service I have used. Their customer service is really easy to deal with as well.

Hubby ordered flowers for me from ProFlowers. I loved them. They were fresh and lasted a long time!! Would definitely recommend them to anyone!!

I don't know if it will help you now, but you may want to consider visiting e-rewards.com. By taking surveys, you can earn e-rewards currency. Once you earn $25 in e-rewards currency you can redeem it for $25 off a $25 or more purchase at FTD.com

I usually call a florist in that area and tell them how I would like to order a special arrangement and they are always happy to do so - taking the CC payment over the phone.

I find that the online or Teleflorists are impersonal and don't do a great job as if you would talk to the florist yourself.

I posted this before, but teleflora and FTD are offered at most local florists, teleflora has this 'find a florist' where you enter a state/zip... etc and then they will show you a map of local florists for you, then some of them have online sites, and they definately have telephone numbers, some even show their 800#'s,

I did this for my moms for mother's day, one florist I had wanted a flowering plant, from the website I chose one, called the local florists, and they told me they had a 'special' on double begonias, that I may like instead... My mil called and was so thrilled, she couldnt believe how large and beautiful the arrangement was...

so for me, I go local!!

I used to use ProFlowers until I saw the box the flowers were delivered in--yes they are very fresh but my blind M-I-L had a terrible time opening it! Also, DH and I once ordered orchids through ProFlowers for our mothers for Valentine's Day and both our mothers were clearly unimpressed. Also, since the flowers come in a box, the recipient has to arrange the flowers her/hisself. And the vase is extra.

Currently I use FTD.com. Yes, they are much more expensive than what you could buy at the local grocery store (I can buy a bouquet at Publix for $10-$20 that's just as nice as the $50-60 bouquets at FTD.com!), but they are very reliable, the flowers come with a vase, and there are lots of choices.

I have always had great products and service from Hallmark flowers. There is a link on the hallmark.com webiste at the bottom under "Our Products." The current special is $5 off any bouquet - the code is posted on the website.

You can get points/cash for Hallmark from many of the referral sites like MyPoints, Ebates, etc. Plus, if you're a member of their Gold Crown rewards program, you get points for flower purchases as well as card purchases and they can add up fast!!!

Another Hallmark Flowers fan here! Absolutely beautiful arrangements.

:earsgirl: You may want to try a company called speaking roses they do have a web site and you can order online and have them delivered. They specialize in Roses that are embosed. They can even do pictures on them. They can be real or silk they even can do a lifetime case with roses. www.speakingroses.com Just a little something different.

I had a bad experience with Proflowers. From now on, I'm just calling a local florist.
