if we book the flight i am looking at, we arrive at 1130pm. with 2 small children and the time difference, it will only be 830pm for us but thats bed time. looking for a cheap hotel for the night. prefer near the airport to decrease driving time (an any possible freakouts by the kidlets!)

thanks everyone. this site has been a tremendous help.

Sorry cannot recommend any but I am sure 'expedia' or 'tripadvisor' would be able to provide some?

when we needed an airport hotel we used priceline, since it was just for the one night we really didn't care where we stayed, so were quite happy to take the 'risk' we got a very nice hilton for $40.

Closest I could think is on McCoy Rd and Sand Lake Rd. There are several that goes around $50.00 and up. Closer to the Airport should be the Econo Lodge and The Clarion Hotel. There is also a Holiday Inn near by. I don't take a hotel at The Airport and the State Rd 436, they are over $100 or $125 a night! :cheer2:

We arrived late into MCO the night before our cruise and stayed at one of the hotels near the airport. Sorry, I forget which hotel, but it was really nice. I do remember the price. I got it though Hotwire for $39/night. There are several websites that offer advice on bidding (don't think I can post them on this board) so you can pretty much figure out by the icons what hotel you are going to get.

www.betterbidding.com will help you identify a hotwire hotel based on the amenities.
www.biddingfortravel.com will give you priceline bidding advice but to make it simple

The 3 star properties offer 24 hour complimentary shuttles, some of the lower rated properties don't You can almost always get a 3* hotel for $40-$50. Bid low and increase your bid by a few dollars adding a zone that only offers hotels below 3* (free re-bid).

:moped: I have never tried to bid for a hotel on the internet, but I am thinking about it for the night before our cruise in October 06.
We we will be 2 adults and 4 children ages 2-11. How would I know if I there are family suites available or would I automatically need to have 2 rooms? If 2 rooms how do I go about getting them beside each other or at least close to each other?

Thanks in advance.

I just stayed at the Sheraton Suites near the airport. Got it off Hotwire for $46 per night and it was very very nice. A beautiful two-room suite, all the amenities you could want. It was about 2 miles from the airport, and there were many other nice-looking hotels near it as well. I would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was listed as a 3-star suite hotel on Hotwire.
