Any recent Virgin holiday makers...

Hey - we got our tickets today and I remember seeing something in the brochure about a free meal at the HRC at USF for all travellers - should we have got a voucher or something?

Also did you have to use your DTD check in voucher to check in? My brother is staying with us but he is flying virgin atlantic outside of our booking... if he can't do DTD check in then there's no point the rest of us doing it! hmm maybe he could pay the $5? that would be ok...

To get the HRC vouchers you need to attend the welcome meeting, although have heard of people just going to see the rep at a non meeting time and getting the vouchers.

As for DTD anyone can use ot for $5 if flying with VA but for VH customers it is free!!

Hi, we flew with Virgin in August.

Did not receive any meal vouchers.

We did use our DTD vouchers which we received free, to be honest would have been happy to pay the $5 anyway.

Rosiejo, we did the free HRC meal last year. You have to get the voucher off your rep and yes, we did have to hand over the DTD check-in vouchers but I agree with JohnnySharp2, its definitely worth your brother paying $5 for one.

We went out 3, nearly 4 weeks ago (seems to have passed in flash).

To get the HRC voucher without attending a Presentation meeting, merely call on the Rep while she (he) is on her rounds.

I understand that they visit all sites sporadically, but we found out that she would be at the Wyndham Palace (near to Downtown Disney) from 8.30 a.m "every" morning.

We had reason to call to get a matter sorted out and she gave us the ticket there and then. Didn't use it, but.....

Another proponent of DTD check-in here though - it frees up your last day so much that we were still in a main park at 2.30 for a flight leaving at 6.15 and even then went back to DTD for last minute shop.

We had planned on eating at HRC so I'll have to try and hunt out a Virgin rep - we are staying in the villas of somerset so not sure if they call there - I'll check. I refuse to go to a welcome meeting on account of how much holiday time it eats up - but this year we need to see our wedding rep on the first day so if the timings right we may pass by the welcome meeting to pick up the voucher.

Thanks for the info - I was wondering about the HRC voucher thing, too. Glad to hear that we can pick up tickets from the rep without attending the meeting - I think Virgin have an office in our hotel, so I'll definately drop by!

We went to HRC last year and loved it - we'll definately be going back next year (maybe even twice!)

Can't wait to use the DTD check-in! After all these years of the dreaded last day hanging around the hotel, now we'll be able to spend more time in the "world".

The downtown check in was great, I am going back next year but booking directly with disney as I upgraded my ticket to an annual pass (without the water parks it cost about $99 but I saved over that in discounts with the dining and shopping, 15% at rainforest cafe gift shop. With the annual pass you get discounts on the room charges will get an annual pass for universal as well as somone on the dvdforums managed to get a room usually charged at $240 odd at $150 per night. Virgin are good but If I do what I want and spend 7 days at the Royal Polynesian and 8 days at the contemporary resort the single room suppliment would be £987 on top of the holiday cost.
