Any recent TIW purchasers?

I am going to get a new TIW card at guest services in May for our trip and was wondering if:
1) was the transaction pretty easy?
2) if anyone had recently purchased one onsite and if so what was the expiration date? When I got one by mail (when it was DDE) it was good for 13 months; this would work out perfectly for 3 trips (I know I am fortunate!) if it still goes that way.
TIA!:goodvibes

Very simple straightforward transaction for me. We got ours June 13 or 14th, and it's good through July 31 of this year. Guest Relations outside MK - no problem.

Do you know the price went up to $75 (for AP holders), $100 I think for FL residents? Still worth it, IMO.

Thank you! Sounds great to me- I've booked our ADRs around participating restaurants. :)
We are going to have friends with us and I would like to include them in the discount but really hate doing the math thing to keep things straight. Our last trip one of our guests kept a spread sheet on her laptop nightly and we juggled using our credit cards back and forth to keep things even. :upsidedow

Had you already ordered the card and just picked it up there or did you purchase it while you were there? I'm sure I've read that you can just purchase it there, but I'd like to hear that from someone who actually did it.

I picked mine up on 1/23/09 & it's good through 2/28/10. I did not purchase it ahead of time and they had changed the policies on where you could obtain them such that I had to go to Guest Relations INSIDE of EPCOT in order to get it, and could only get it there - no where outside of the parks. Thankfully I had my AP so I did not have to pay an extra admission just to go in & get it (though I had to take the monorail over from GF to TTC to EPCOT in order to do it - round trip took me an hour or so (including the wait in line))...but it was all worth it as I made up the cost at dinner that night @ V&As...

Tables in Wonderland is a Disney discount card that gives you 20% off of food and beverages (including alcoholic beverages) at participating restaurants. We purchased one in December (before the price went up) and even though we only stayed four nights we have already recouped our $60. When we were there we were able to purchase our card at Guest Relations at Downtown Disney. It was fast and easy and the card is good for 13 months.

Our trip in October, 2009, will be the third trip on our TiW card. We got it mid-October, 2008, and it expires at the end of the first week of November, 2009. We got it at Guest Relations in Epcot. Probably took under five minutes.

And to whoever asked, you can't actually purchase it in advance any longer if you don't already have an activated AP. Apparently, they used to let you order it if you had a pre-purchased AP voucher that wasn't activated yet, but you can't do that any longer.

Is Epcot the only place you can get it?

As far as I know, you can still get it at any Guest Relations window, including DTD. I did mine outside of MK at Guest Relations, although that was last summer. I was thinking the PP meant they wouldn't let them buy it outside of Epcot at the ticket windows - I'm not sure if that's really a "Guest Relations" place or not? I've never done any transactions at the outside the park windows except for buying the TiW card (well, DDE card then) at MK.

Maybe someone can enlighten us further with additional experiences from recently?

Yes. Since January, 2009, in order to get it now you actually have to inside EPCOT and go to Guest Relations to the left of Spaceship Earth.

Many moons ago (the 1st time I had a DDE card) I had to go through the same hurdle jump, but in the interceding years I was always able to just buy one via fax/mail or just go to any Guest Relations location to pick one up, so I used to just pick them up @ the Guest Relations @ DTD, (and on this trip I tried to pick one up at the Guest Relations outside of MK but was instructed that I had to go the Guest Relations inside of EPCOT) so apparently with the switch from DDE to TIW they reverted to only selling them at the one location inside of EPCOT again. I'm guessing it's to keep the volume down, but it's probably just my skepticism.....in any event it's well worth the $ and paid for itself twice over just the rest of that trip....and I still have another 11 months of use to enjoy :cool1:

I'm a bit confused. Only 10minutes ago I was reading on allears that it could be bought at guest relations at all parks and DTD. This page appeared to be updated as of this month as it had the new prices and participating restaurants as of this month. We weren't planning to go to EPCOT until midway through our trip and wanted to use the card several times before this.

After reading this I had to call and find out-we are going in May and I was thinking about purchasing one...you can buy the card at any ticket window in any park, not just Epcot. I actaully had the CM look into this as I see another poster said inside Epcot, and that per the CM who helped me, said was incorrect. The FL resident/AP price is $75.00 valid for 13 months. She said it was for 20% all food & beverage purchases-alcohol too-which to me sounds like a pretty great deal.

I just got off the phone with the TiW people. I completely forgot about getting it before I head down in mid-April. According to them...you can get the TiW card at GS in DTD or at any GS in any park.
I ordered mine today, it is good until the end of April 2010.

Is it a good deal?? Depends. I have three trips coming...April, August and Dec. I have gone over the places I intend to eat on the first two trips....after I subtract the $75 I paid for it, I end up saving about $90. That doesn't include my Dec savings...not sure where we'll be eating then.
I tend to look at is as if I don't have to leave a tip...that 20% off is the same as I would normally tip.

The annual pass does not need to be activated. You can purchase the Tables in Wonderland at any guest relations at the four major theme parks or the two at Down Town Disney. They will give you a permanent card for immediate use.

Tables in Wonderland

This is the response that I just received via email from TIW cast member. Hope it helps!

I emailed them to clarify also and this is the response.

This is great, we can go along with our plan to pick it up at DTD on our first night.
