The last time we tried Tony's at MK was over 4 years ago when DD was a baby. They sat us right next to a little boy who had just lost his meal (too much info I know.) and didn't clean it up, for at least 5 min or more, just put a chair over it. The service was poor and the food was just ok. It was crazy there and very poorly organized. :guilty:

Now we ended up making some changes with our ADR's and Tony's was the only place near MK we could get that night.

I am willing to give it another try (it being $$ isn't so much an issue being on the Dinning plan.)

So has anyone been recently (in the last year.) and had a good experience?

DD is allergic to milk and eggs and I need to severely limit my intake too. I hope they have meals that are accommodating (noted on the ADR's.)

We went there twice on our last trip in January. I didn't see any problems with the attentiveness of the staff and the food was good. I think it was probably a fluke for you, hopefully it will be better this trip!

We went in December of 2005 and I really liked it. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I liked it, since all I ever seeemed to see were negative reviews. I had the pannini and my friend had the spaghetti, and both were pretty good. My favorite part was really the ambience, and we also had an awesome CM. I would think they'd be accommodating to allergies, but perhaps call ahead and ask?

:)

DBF and I love Tony's! It's a must-do for us! We've always had an awesome waiter/waitress and great food (knock on wood). Plus the pesto bread dipping sauce is awesome! :teeth:

I forgot to mention in my original post that our last time was maybe our 4th or 5th time there. We just gave up at that point because of the decline in service (not one time, I almost never give up on something because of one bad experience.) Of course this was 4 years ago, restaurants can change a lot in that amount of time.

A friend just got home and she said Tony's was one of the best meals of the trip. I was surprised, but I hope that we can say so too. DH thinks it is over priced for what you get, but since it is all one price anyway.......... I think I might still try to get in at Chief Mickey's or Ohannas once we get there, but at least we have a place to eat that night now.

Thanks for the reviews. I need to check out the menu on line and see what is available. I know I feel rather silly going to a place that is primarily dairy (like Pizza for example.) and try to find something we can eat. I normally just avoid it. Some Italian can be good, just leave the cheese off. Some they put a little cheese in everything, a head of time and can't just leave it off. I think Disney is smarter then this though, they deal with a lot of allergies rather well and try to be accommodating. Milk is a rather common one. (I am so looking forward to the day when this isn't an issue for us, if that day ever does come. :) )

We have been there 3 times and it's always been amazing. One of our trips we had 10 people and the were very attentive. Always great service, food and atmosphere!!! Unfortunately we aren't eating there this year :guilty: But how knows I might be able to change DH's mind. We want to try the Crystal Palace!!! Hope you try it again and have a great time!!!

We were just there in December and had a great experience, food was awesome, service was great. The only problem we had was with the table next to us waking up their 5 or 6 year old who was sleeping in the carriage and she cried like a 2 year old through our entire dinner, some people :rolleyes1

Anyway, I wouldn't hesitate to go there again, we loved it.

We went to Tony's for lunch last Thursday. The service was very good. I had the baked ziti which I thought was excellent. Dh had the pasta primavera which he loved but it was entirely too heavy on the garlic for me.

My DDs and I ate there this past Oct before MNSSHP. I knew about the bad reviews and how I shouldn't buy the Spag & Meatballs because it's only OK but very expensive but we wanted to see for ourselves.

So I had the steak, YUM! My girls LOVED the thin crust pizza. The service was great even though it was crowded and busy.

My only minor complaints; the breadsticks were extra $$ and on the dining plan we got a dessert sampler plate so I didn't get to try the creme brulee. :( Lastly, I didn't like the cannoli (cheese was too orange tasting) and I love cannolis.

I've decided to try it again so my DH can try it out.

We thought Tony's was just OK. Granted, we are from NY Metro area and eat lots of traditional super good Italian all the time. I thought it was pretty overpriced for what it was. I am used to Disney prices, but $20 for a plate of box spaghetti and two meatballs is a little much.

We ate there this past December. We loved the decorations and our waitress was one of the best we had. My DS10 did not like the entree he chose and she quickly changed it and brought him the baked ziti which 3 out of the 5 of us had and declared wonderful. MY DM and I had some kind of sandwich - mine had chicken hers had no meat as she is a vegetarian. She declared hers very good mine was average. All in all an ok meal but the beauty and relaxing atmoshpere was well worth it. We would do it again.

We haven't eaten dinner there in years, but we do eat lunch at least once every time we are at WDW. We all LOVE their lunch menu and the service was great. In fact they brought out the wrong meal for me (which wasn't a big deal to me, mistakes happen), and without saying anything the manager came out and apologized profusely and I kept saying it really didn't bother me and I didn't mind waiting. So about 5 minutes later he came back out with a front of the line pass for our whole family for two rides of our choice for being so understanding. We were all thrilled. And he took the meal off of our check. It was all just so much more than I ever expected. And then the food I did get was amazing.

Are the breadsticks extra on the dining plan??

Ate there on 4/20/06. This was my second favorite restraunt (Coral Reef was the primo experience on our last trip).

The food was good, the best crem brulle we had (as we had atleast one person order it at every restraunt we went to) was there. In addition, the wait staff was fresh, friendly, and playful. I think that timing is a big thing there as we got there at 5 pm. By the time we were leaving at around 6:30-ish the servers seemed to have become stressed with getting their job done as quickly as possible.

I really liked our meal at Tony's. We attended MNSSHP, and ate there prior. My older DD was vegetarian at the time so LTT was out for us. Two of us had the salmon and loved it. Third had something else, and enjoyed it. My calamari appetizer was really unusual but delicious. We also had the dessert trio and I liked the cannoli at Tony's better than the sample I had at the Epcot F&W festival. Go figure!

We'd go again!

:thumbsup2

A bit off topic, but my sis and I (both vegetarians) ate at LTT in December - they serve you the Amber Waves of Grain from the lunch menu. It's not all you can eat, but it really was all we could eat! Between that giant entree and the salad, rolls and dessert, we had to waddle out!

One of my favourite meals, actually.

Good to hear. I belive our ADR's are early too. We are eating at CR for the 1st time too, looking forward to it! (and not worrying about the bill!)

BTW, you are the friend I refered to in post #5! Thanks for putting your input in. :wave2:
