We're leaving Friday for WDW. We have three rooms at All-Stars which were made under one reservation to apply a discount to all three rooms.

Has anyone had any success lately with physically splitting the rooms at checkin to have separate charging accounts for each room?

It is a room-only CRO reservation (NOT a package).

I know how the room charging works and how each key has a different number, and I am prepared to just calculate and have everyone pay their stuff after the fact.

However, with All-Stars having only a $500 limit, with 6 of us on three rooms, we would have to charge stuff out just about every evening, which would mean two visits to the desk each evening. One to pickup the printout, and another visit back to pay off the charges after we calculated stuff out.

Carol,

The answer is your typical Disney answer: it all depends on who checks you in. It is possible to split the reservation up onto separate credit cards but not every CM can or will do it.

My suggestion would be to contact the resort's front desk supervisor a few days before your arrival. Call the resort and ask for the Front Desk Supervisor. Explain what you want to do and he/she should be able to help you. They may even be able to take care of it then and there so you'd be all set when you check in.

You could also wait until you arrive. If your front desk CM can't/won't do it, ask to see the front desk manager then. But this will make your check in time a lot longer.

All I can say is YES, it depends on who checks you in. On our past 12 trips, we have always reserved 2 rooms with one credit card and then split it when we get there. We have had great experiences with this and we have had horrible experiences. I remember one time when we had a great CM and she had the whole thing done in like 10 minutes. However, our last trip to the ASMusic this past June was one of the worst. Long story made short:

We checked in late, about 1:00AM. Told the CM we needed to split the charges. She tried but the line to approve the credit cards were down. She was very nice and told us to go to our rooms and get some sleep and we would fix it in the morning. Returned the next morning to run the credit cards and the poor guy took over 30 minutes to split the charges to our 2 cards. OK, we went to the parks after getting a late start and enjoyed the day. When we got back to our rooms, our room cards didn't work!!!! We were locked out of our rooms!!! We went BACK to the front desk to find out that the guy from that morning had checked us out of our rooms!!! The manager had to come out and staighten everything out. WOW, what an experience that was. BUT, let me say this, during the whole process, everyone was extremely nice and kept apologizing for the mistake.

I tell this story to let you know, you never know what to expect, but please be patient with the CM and just go with the flow. Nothing ruins my "magic" like some making a butt of themselves by yelling at a CM.

OK, I'm stepping off my Soap Box now. :hyper:

I don't know if this helps, but my sister & I shared a room @ YC - I paid for the room & had my own charging privileges. When she arrived later that day & got her keys, she put down a different credit card for her & we had no problems. Our enitre family did this @ the Disneyland Hotel with 3 rooms & 4 of us having different charging privileges with no problems at checkout, so I know it's possible. Good luck!

This made me laugh right out loud!! How true, how true!! We all know, even under stress, a littie sugar goes a long way!!!

Thanks for the Monday smile!!! :0 :0 :)

I had the same question, so i asked Disney.
The CM i had on the phone separated the ressie so that there were 2 separate numbers (one for each room), while still keeping the discount (email code) applied to both rooms. She also distributed the deposit I had made to each ressie (i made the ressie on my credit card since i got the email code, but my Father is coming with us and i booked a room for him also under the email code).

Now he will easily be able to charge to his own room when we get there, and we dont have to worry about the CM at check in trying to separate the ressies. She said it would be easier for us if she did it ahead of time, rather than when we were all waiting in line, and wanting to get to the parks.

She even gave me her name and direct extension in the event that we have any trouble at check in with the discounted rate being applied to his ressie, now that it's separate from mine.
