Hello
I was wondering if anyone has recently stayed at ASMU and wanted to share their review. We have Pop booked since there is a a few sport groups staying at ASSports and ASmu while we are going. But can't help thinking I would still rather stay at ASMu. Thanks.

Don't know if this counts as recently, but, we were at the ASMu in August. My DGDs, twins age 11, and I stayed in the Caylpso preferred and my son and his family stayed next door in a Family Suite. I was a little hesitant because they are value and figured that the room would be too small for us. I was pleasantly surprised. We had more than enough room. The room was clean and the mousekeeping kept it that way our whole trip. They left us towel animals each day.
My son's suite was really quite large. There was a double bed in one room, and then a small kitchenette with a microwave, sink and refrig. There was plenty of room to work in there. My D-I-L made breakfast each morning for her son and grandson.
The second room had a couch and a chair that made into beds, a double and single, respectfully. There were two tvs, one in each room.
We were not too far from the pool, which the kiddos loved, and the food court and store. The food court was really nice. Very large and the food was not so bad.
The buses were a little slow to come to the resort, but when they did come, there would usually be one very soon after the first one.
We normally stay at the POFQ, but would not hesitate to stay at the ASMu again.

Hello, Kaysmom. We are also from Tennessee just 20 miles from Memphis. Where are you guys from? We leave in 9 days for our Mickey Fix. I noticed in you picture a brick house so I looked and say Tennessee.

I was there December 14th and 15th and at first I was disappointed because I wanted to stay at Pop but they were booked so I had to stay at Music. I was very pleasantly surprised and my room had obviously been refurbished. Very nice!! I had no problems with the busses either.

We had two rooms at ASMu December 8 - 15. One room was a king handicapped and the other was an adjoining regular double bed room. Both rooms were remodeled, fresh and clean. The curved shower curtain and the curtain separating the vanity area from the sleeping area were really nice touches. We were on the first floor of Jazz and faced the parking lot which made it very quiet yet close to the main building. The grounds were beautiful with lots of flowering plants and mature trees. There were also a lot of activities for kids around the pool. We were a party of all adults and didn't swim but it looked like a lot of fun. We never had any problems with the buses either to or from the parks. Check-in, check-out, concierge, bell services, ME and RAC were all great.

There were just a few things that we didn't like. The beds in both rooms seemed to have old uncomfortable mattresses and we didn't sleep well. I've seen some reviews indicating that those reviewers had new pillow top mattresses but that wasn't our experience. I like an option of softer lighting which didn't exist. The main light, the reading lights by the beds and the vanity lighting over the sink were all BRIGHT. I reached a compromise by either keeping the vanity curtain closed to mute the vanity light or leaving the bathroom light on and the door mostly closed. My only other negative was the food court. We enjoyed the outside patio seating but I thought the food choices were very limited compared to Pop Century.

In fact, I was comparing ASMu to POP as we stayed at POP our prior visit. I would have returned to POP but couldn't get the $59 rate there because it was booked so I thought I would give ASMu a try. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. It's a good value for what you pay. Would I personally return? Probably not.

We live in West Knoxville. I think just about every house in our town is brick. Just 9 :yay: more days! Have a great trip!!

Stayed at ASMu in May. The resort was fine, but we were totally annoyed with the busses. Every bus was standing room only and packed like sardines. They did not seem to run enough busses for three resorts and all those people. Sometimes people got really rude and pushy after standing waiting for a bus for 40 minutes after an exhausting day.

we were there last week in a family suite and LOVED it! we had room to spread out, the ktchen was great for being able to make breakfast in the morning and have snacks on hand. the 2 bathrooms were also great!

We were in Calypso, very close to the main pool, food court and bus stop. The buses were good, not long waits at all. We found it very clean and actually quiet. I did find housekeeping less than desirable, but it was one specific housekeeper. We had her most of the week and she was bad - one day I didn't notice any one thing that she had done and DH said she had been in there for atleast an hour - the beds weren't made, the coffee was still in the pot from the morning, towels still on the floor. We had a different person mid-week and she was great - the room was immaculate, she even set up DD's toys in the window and they were waiting for her when we got back.

Here are a few pictures, sorry but I only took pictures around our resort at night, and please excuse the mess in our room, at the time we had just gotten back from shopping in DTD and DD got out all of her toys.

DH and I have stayed at all the Values numerous times. We stayed at All Star Music last month for DH's birthday. All Star Music is our favorite Value. We really like the layout of the resort--even the buildings that are farthest from the food court don't feel too far. The food court is on a par with POP and All Star Movies (Sports is a little smaller but is still OK).

I'm completely convinced that the wait for buses just depends on the time of year you come, how busy that particular resort is, the phase of the moon ;) , etc. We've stayed at the Values 6-8 times per year for about the past 4 years and have honestly not noticed that one Value has better bus service than another.

We both think that POP has very cute theming but is the noisiest, most crowded, and smokiest of the Value resorts. I would rather stay at any of the All Stars, but we like the theming of Music best.

Thanks for the positive points on ASMu - we check in on Monday. We've decided that POP just isn't for us anymore after our visit in September. As large as POP is it's just way too crowded for us. We were there in September during free dining & it was packed to the roofs with people. Unruley & unsupervised kids running up & down the halls after 10pm at night, rude guests slamming doors all night long, and just really no quiet time at all there. For us POP was just too overpowering. Yes, we loved the food court & the buses were great, but we're ready for something more compact and quieter so I really can't wait to check out ASMu once again. :goodvibes

We just had a family suite at ASMu January 6-14th. As I have stated before, I am not a fan of the values, but I have absolutely no complaints about the family suite. It was large - plenty of room. The pull outs, while old looking, were reasonably comfortable for a pull out. Our room was in Calypso #10 on the parking lot side, which I requested. It was very quiet, yet very close to the pool and the main building.

I have no complaints about the buses. Buses going to the parks did not go through all 3 AS resorts, just ASMu. Coming back late in the evening they did make multiple stops, but not during the morning and afternoon. There were times we stood and times we had seats - no different actually from any of the other resorts I've stayed in at WDW.

Our room was clean, conveniently located yet quiet, spacious, and on the whole, a very pleasant experience.

That is what I'm worried about. I have heard numerous things about Pop being crowded ,Noisy and Smoky  . Also read how uncomfortable the beds are too. We like quiet at least at night when we are trying to sleep. My kids go to bed fairly early too.

I have read your review of Pop before and it sounds like I would be miserable. Please review ASMu when you get back from your trip. Or just PM me and let me know how you liked it compared to Pop. Have a great time on vacation!

I have never stayed in a value resort anywhere. So this will be a new experience. All I need is a clean comfy room and a little bit of quiet too. Pop sounds like it might be a bit noisy. Thanks so much for your review of ASMu. My kids of course want to go back to the Poly but out of the pics I showed them they like Pop better :confused3 . It will only be a long weekend stay so I'm trying not to stress about it. But I do want to able to sleep.
