Any problems with wearing a Dress? for a little girl...

Hi,

I have one of those girls that always wears a dress. Are there any rides where this is going to be an isssue? She is a big 'thrill ride' kid and will go on everything she is tall enough for. Also if there are any rides you think will be an issue would wearing bike shorts solve it? I hate to make her wear an extra layer if I don't need to.

While I am asking, what about for an adult? Dresses are so much cooler than shorts for me.

Most rides it would not be an issue but the bike shorts underneath would be a good idea. That way just in case anyone bends over but forgets what they have on you won't be giving everyone a peep show.

My daughter always wore a skirt or a dress, once in a while loose culottes. She never needed shorts underneath and I think it would be too warm for layers. She is now a mom and thinks like me- there is nothing as cool and comfortable as a lightweight skirt. Can't imagine wearing shorts as they would rub. And we are normal size gals.

I was just coming to ask the same question. I have a ton of polo shirt style dresses and they are very comfortable. I plan on wearing those. I am in the process of losing weight and I don't want to go and buy a whole new wardrobe. I will back shorts and lightweight capris, but I find dresses so comfortable. I guess I'll have to pass on the sandals though? Right? Walmart's earth shoes are so comfortable, I can't imagine them being a problem. Anyone esle wear those?

My daughter who is 5, wears nothing but dresses and it's never been a problem at WDW. I have worn dresses too, the only problem I ever had was climbing in and out of low rides. But a well placed hand will fix that.

my girls wear dresses almost everyday they are at WDW. They are cooler & make it easier for them & my wife at Bathroom time. Never 1 issue with dresses being a problem.

I've actually decided to make myself a "theme-park dress" or two for parks w/ lots of water rides. I'm not an especially thin person, so I'm not going to wear a swimsuit to a park, but I just get miserable walking around in wet clothes after a water ride.

I'm using Supplex (the swim trunk fabric) and a tennis dress pattern, but I'm going to make it somewhat longer that a tennis dress would be. Then I'm going to go buy a discount-store bikini to use as underwear under the dress! This way I'll dry out quickly, yet feel modest enough to go out in public, and covered enough not to freeze to death on the indoor rides. I got the idea from those Australian swimsuits, but I don't want the skin-tight look, and it seemed that a dress would be a good compromise.

I always put DD (5) in a sundress with a bikini underneath, that way she's ready for any water rides (can even take the dress off), cool, and comfortable! I have never worried about anyone seeing her swim suit bottom (even if they didn't realize it was a swim suit). Being lightweight the dress also dries quickly. I say go for it if she wants to wear a dress JMHO I now have 2 DD's 1 is 5 the other is 1 and both will be in dresses this year
