I'm interested in bringing some beverages along on our stay at Dolphin and have been reading about removing the contents of the mini-bar refrigerator, writing a note to housekeeping not to replace them and putting personal items there. Has anyone had any problems doing this? Is this all there is to it?

Thanks,
Bill From PA

it costs $20 to have the fridge emptied. They will not do it for free. The mini bar does not get as cold as a regular fridge. Many people put the ice bucket in there to make it real cold.

We never emptied it out, and it was still big enough to store several bottles of water.

It didn't keep it as cold as our fridge would at home, kind of "chilled" it.

Bill from PA,

We stayed at the Swan in December and emptied the fridge/mini-bar ourselves. We filled the fridge with items we picked up at a grocery store enroute to the resort (milk, pop, fruit, juice boxes, etc). We neatly placed all of the items that had been in the mini-bar on top of the armoire for the duration (7 days) of our stay, and never had a problem with housekeeping, or charges to our room for any of the items we removed. On our last day we put everything back into the mini-bar, in order. We did not leave a note for housekeeping, as you have suggested, but that sounds like a good idea to me. I think you should be able to do this at the Dolphin without a problem.
