Any problems for "plus-size" people?

My husband and I are taking our children to US/IOA in May. Are there any rides that we might have a problem getting or fitting on, considering there is a lot of us to love? He, for example, has a size 48 waist. Do they have sample seats in front of all the rides to try out?

:D welcome to the dis!
Yes they do have seats in front of the hulk, and i think dueling dragons! The seats could be a struggle for your dh! As iam a size 44 and i have some struggle getting fasten in to the seats! But there are some really other great rides at the park! Have fun!:)

PeachGrits,

Welcome to the boards! I love your user name.

There is a lot of my DH to love too, so I know something about needing a bigger seat. I would say he's approximately the same size as your husband. At IOA, on the Hulk Coaster and Dueling Dragons there are special seats for those with larger builds. These are in rows 3 and 6. At the Hulk, just tell them you want one of the larger seats. At Dueling Dragons, just position yourselves in either row three or six, as no attendant directs you to a specific row.

Dr. Doom is a tight fit for my husband, but he does manage to get into the seat. On Jurassic Park River Adventure where your whole party shares a lapbar, the rest of you will experience some extra airtime:eek: (I like it that way!) Jimmy Neutron, same thing about a shared lapbar. Let your husband pull the bar down on both of these. If your kids do it, he won't be able to breathe. My kids do this and make him crazy. You may want to sit next to your kids, instead of each other on Men in Black as you will fit but it will be a tight squeeze sitting next to each other. The new Mummy ride was fine for him too, although they had to push a little on the lap bar to get it to lock down.

I think you'll be OK as long as you head for the special seats on the roller coasters.

Have fun!

There are test seats in front of Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Doctor Doom, MIB, and Mummy.

MIB's is there primarily for comfort.

On Hulk, Dragons, and Doom, you must be able to bring the harness down and lock the seatbelts. On Hulk and Dragons they also have larger seats (and the respective test seat) in the 3rd and 6th row.

On Mummy, the restraint must come down to a certain point. The back row is better because there is more legroom than the front, which in many cases has been best for larger guests.
