Any Pre-DDP Le Cellier Fans???

One of our favorites and a must do every trip! We have never been on a dining plan.

WOW!! Thank you, thank you, one and all.

I am going to keep calling....wish us luck!!! Realized we have likely too many TS still and can do both Chefs AND Le Cellier - :thumbsup2

Good luck> I hope you can get an ADR fro LeCellier. We have been there 4 times and always paid . This Sept is our first DDP and of course Lecellier was one of the first ADR's I amde! I would still go even if I didn't have DDP. :thumbsup2

We have eaten at LeCellier for years. We even remember, in the early 90's, when it was CAFETERIA style! We have always loved it.

I admit that, prior to DDP, we tended to eat there for lunch vs. dinner, but we've always been fans.

And those who have tried it on DDP - where it "seems", or IS, in the case of FDP - would you go there and pay OOP??

Seen the menus and read the rave reviews - I am debating whether it's worth calling DD everyday to find a slot...

Comments?? TIA![/QUOTE]

We never went before we tried the DDP last summer. We went 2 times for dinner on one trip and plan to do so again this summer. We really enjoyed it. We would pay OOP, but probably wouldn't each order desserts, etc. I hope that makes sense. We do like it and first thing in the morning calls 6 months out were still difficult to get reservations for 5.

To tell you the truth we have never been on the DDP and love Le Cellier, we eat there every trip. We had a difficult time last year getting ADR's for our trip and it was somewhat upsetting, especially since we were paying top dollar for our meals.

We never felt that the DDP was right for us being a family of five, because we were not big eaters, ate breakfast in the room, usually only a light lunch and then a nice dinner at night. At dinner, my youngest DD always just shared off our plates. But next year DH and I are going ourselves and we will be using the DDP, will still eat at the same places as usual though.

I think the DDP has made it possible for people that wouldn't normally go and spend 150.00 on dinner, the ability to try these restaurants.

Love Le Cellier

Guess it all depends--my sister-in-law had her honeymoon dinner there and had TERRIBLE service. My husband and I went the following year, and it's one of our favorites! My husband loves the steak, and I had some of the most mouth-watering scallops I've had in any restaurant. Our waiter was very kind and explained the significance of the different breads they bring to the table--all of which are wonderful. We're going again in June, and I can't wait!

I personally love it there and it is one of my favorite places. Then again I am a meat and potatoes kinda gal. I do think that sometimes on these boards all the rave reviews can lead to a disappointing experience. So many people say it is great and then you show up expecting the best meal of your life. I think everyone should go in with reasonable expectations and try it once and form there own opinions.
