I am thinking of making a ressie for The Plaza in MK for lunch as the lighter menu appeals to me. Anyone have any favorites or non-favorites? Is the German potato salad any good?

I love the Plaza. I generally have the turkey club, but I've also had the veggie sandwich once too. I like the potato salad, but they will let you substitute fries if you would prefer.

Great place to have a sandwich, burger, hot dog and then end your meal with some ice cream.....yummy. We always have one day, usually lunch at the Plaza. I usually have the Philly cheesesteak sandwich or the grilled chicken sandwich. The portions are not huge, enough to fill you up and leave you with a little room for ice cream after your meal.

Enjoy ;)

My husband and I try to eat at the Plaza every trip. Good food, nothing fancy. We both like the potato salad. My husband always orders the rueben sandwich. I have had the plaza club, turkey sandwich, tuna sandwich, and hamburger and all have been good.

I ate there once last summer and LOVED the vegetarian sandwich. Oh, my! I even asked for more hummus and the waitress brought me a big bowl of it with more bread. YUM! She said she had never had anyone ask for more hummus, so thought I must really like it to ask for more. And boy do I! That made my visit.

We like the Strawberry Chicken Salad and DD and DS like the burgers. We prefer the ice cream sundaes at Ghiradelli over the ones at the Plaza, so we usually skip dessert now.

One of those wonderful "hidden secrets". Great fresh sandwiches. Refreshing break. Much preferred to several of the signatures.

DH and I eat at the Plaza every trip. I always have the tuna sandwich and potato salad. It is one of our Disney traditions that I really look forward to, as silly as that may sound. Another bonus is the free refills on drink. The Plaza is a calm relaxing place in the middle of the always busy Magic Kingdom.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

It's always been pretty tasty and a nice reprieve from the hustle outside. I've had the burger, cheesesteak, reuben and veggie sandwich and they were all trasty. I like the german potato salad as well. Ice cream is yummy but i usually can't take it all in (my kids can though!) The only problem we have encountered is the past few times the service was a bit slow. Had we not had our kids it would have actually been a welcome break but it was rough with the kids being able to see the MK go by and not be part of it.

A. the potato salad is great, and has been great since they opened

B. Dot has worked there for um, ever... she waited on us when I was small, and she still waits on us now that I am large.

C. the interior has not changed, at all, in forever, and this is one place where they need to maintain the history, not improve something that is perfect already.

I'm a Plaza fan. It is a light menu - good sandwiches and ice cream if you're in the mood. I also get the turkey club.

We like to eat there too. I'll add they nicely manage my young son's special dietary needs and we've always had a good experience.:goodvibes

Hi
I'm glad everyone seems to like the Plaza. I've never tried it, even though I've been to DW many times. I'm determined to try it on my next trip in August. Thanks!

We dine at The Plaza for lunch everytime we go to WDW. The service and food are great. It is smaller and quieter than the Crystal Palace, which makes it more relaxing for a meal. The ruebens are great, as well as the turkey clubs and burger. The chocolate milkshakes are awesome! :)

My opinion exactly. It's so small and tucked away, many people miss it. It's a must-do for us every trip.

The Plaza turned out to be one of our favorite meals. It was great to sit in the cool air conditioned restaurant and to get away from the crowds in the park. Food and atmosphere was a 10, service was good.
The meal was great -- I had the strawberry salad, which I LOVED; DS had a cheeseburger, which was a cut above the rest of the cheeseburgers he had all week; DD had a kids meal, which was...well, a kids meal. DH had a club sandwich, he said it was good.
We would definitely return to this restaurant.

I've only eaten there once and loved the club sandwich, which I split since it was huge. I can't tell you about the potato salad since I don't like potato salad.

My family actually got seated as a walk-up here for an early dinner (5:30 PM) last December. I had the vegetable sandwich and loved it. I had a chocolate malt as well, I believe. It was one of my favorite meals of the trip, albeit simple and casual.

Thanks for the wonderful replies and reviews!! As I mentioned, it seems like a lighter menu than the other TS restauants in MK, and quieter, too. I'm now really looking forward to going! :thumbsup2
