Any plans for a new Deluxe?

I was curious if there are any plans to open a new deluxe. I had heard rumors a couple of years ago about a new resort on the Seven Seas Lagoon - but I haven't heard anything about new deluxes since then.

always been a rumor about the space between the TTC and Contemp Resort.

There may have even been original plans way back in the late 60's, but as of now, no officially designated plan for that space.

There were a few resorts that were to go in following the Contemporary and the Polynesian but none happened and I would not bet they ever will. Here is a link to some info and photos including a map of their location that I put together.

Given the slump in the tourist industry I would not look for one soon.

Note that the new value resorts are WAY behind their original building schedule because of the slump in the tourist industry.

Look for new resorts to be built when it is difficult to get rooms when booking for the off season. This year makes new construction at least seem plausable. The last three years have been very lean for the Florida tourist industry.

They were going to build another resort on the seven seas lagoon that would only feature suites. Apparently there is a problem with the soil which is why it was never built.
