Any PFTS pictures yet?

Party for the Senses. Event that's held on Sat. in Epcot during Food & Wine Festival. We're attending on 11/3 and just curious what people were wearing. We're going business casual as recommended but just wanted to see.

Dont have any pics- but women wear coctail dresses and women wear jeans. Some men wear jackets and some men dont. I would feel comfortable wearing business casual- nice pants with a dressy top.

Don't have any pictures, we went last Saturday and dress really ran the gamut. We wore business casual, my DS 14 wore nice jeans and a button up shirt, DD8 was in a shirt and long skirt.
We saw everything from shorts and tees and tank tops to sequined cocktail dresses.
I was very nervous beforehand about our dress, but quickly realized I shouldn't worry.

Now, finding a table is another issue............a long rant at that and I won't go into it right now.

You know, DH and I were actually disappointed in this year's PftS. That is a long rant that *I* will not get into! LOL. But we both commented that there seemed to be MORE tables available than the last 2 years we attended. This was on Sept 29.

I have a DD8 and never considered bringing her, I just couldn't justify the price for someone who would not be drinking wine and basically only likes mac and cheese and chicken nuggets! Did your DD sample many items? I told my DH I cannot wait until I think she is ready to attend...even if it is before she is of drinking age, as long as she would try some of the food offerings, I would probably do it.

To the OP...I saw some folks really dressed up, which looks great. My DH wore a collared polo type shirt and khakis and I wore a casual, cotton dress and flat sandals. Hope this helps!

You know, we were told that they added tables this year but it still wasn't enough. People were wandering around like zombies looking for anyplace to put their plate down and eat. About halfway through, there were people seated around the perimeter of the stage......even while performances were taking place!
And we had a problem with people setting their dirty dishes onto our (stand up)table. One woman even licked her spoon clean, then sat it onto my sons plate! I wanted to bop her on the head.
My parents were specifically told by an event CM that the event was overbooked.....I don't understand how they can do that knowing there are not seats for everyone. It was crazy.

I didn't pay for my kids to attend, this was my parents idea of a great surprise for my family. I posted a while back about it.
DH and I were not thrilled. It is not something I would take kids to, even though we did see other children there (in t-shirts and shorts).
At least, I wouldn't take my 8 year old. I think the 14 year old truly enjoyed it and he tried enough foods that maybe it was worth it. But not DD. She literally ate one serving of wok seared beef and noodles and declared that she was full. I got her to try one bite of Chicken and mole sauce, she hated it. Then she had a few chocolate truffles and some cake. So in my mind, it was a total waste for her. They did both enjoy the hot teas.

OP, my husband wore a polo shirt and some dressier dark grey shorts with nice leather sandels. I was in khakis (I don't do dresses or skirts), nice black sandels and a sheer black lacy top with camisole. My mom wore a nice pink and white dress with cardigan, dad was in nice pants and a button up shirt.
We saw one person in a silver sequin backless mini-dress with plunging neckline, that was the most over the top thing we saw. Most people were in khakis and button ups or sundresses and such.
Some were just in tees and shorts, some in cocktail attire. It really ran the gamut.

We went to the South African Wine Event on 10/12 and it was like a mini Party For The Senses (not very good at all.) Many people were dressed in theme park wear. Tank tops, sports T-shirts, baseball hats, dirty shorts, camo shorts. :confused3 I am guessing it will be the same at PFTS we are attending on 11/3. It is a shame people can't dress up even a little:( PFTS used to be a lot more dressy.

Thanks for your response and comments. Did your parents know about the event when they paid for the kids to go? That is a nice and generous surprise, but I can also see where it really should stay a "grown ups night out" type of thing, too. I am glad at least the 14 year old enjoyed it. I am LOL at your 8 year old...sounds like *MY* 8 year old!!!!

I am disppointed to hear that they actually "overbook" such an event. You would think, since you must pay in advance and refunds are not given, that they would not "overbook" because really...at that price, who is going to cancel and lose that amount of money last minute?

I can honestly say that the Sept 29th PftS was NOT that crowded at all. I wonder if there is any way to find out the amount of people who attended each night? Probably not, I doubt WDW will release that info....but it would be interesting to see! That is awful that people were setting dirty plates on the stage, and that woman with the spoon...NO WAY!:scared:

All of this info makes me confirm in my mind that we will not be attending next year. It makes me sad, but we just don't think it was as good as the years prior. I don't think it was as good, even if the price was still the $95 we originally paid.

Well, I shared the Festival flyer I received in the mail with my parents, so they read the description. And I shared whatever comments I had found online.

When they called to book, I guess my mom asked if kids can go and the CM said "yes".
Well, just because they can go doesn't mean they should go.............just my opinion.

I did post a thread on our experience and am ready to be ripped to shreds on this board!

Ohhh, I am dying to read your thread, although I hate to dredge up bad memories for you. Can you PM me the link...since the search function isn't working? Or post it here, if you want. I promise you, no flames from me...unless you pool hop with your refillable mug from your previous trip while smoking a cigarette!:rotfl:

LOL, I wouldn't flame ya even if you did all that, either! But GOD FORBID you tell me you tip 10% at buffets.:lmao:

Its on the first page of the restaurant forum, titled Party for the Senses-disappoinment.
I have no idea how to link! sorry.......
