My computer is acting up!
The printer wouldn't work, then i went to plug in the lead for the camera that won't work either, nor will the webcam! the usb ports won't work for some reason :confused3
anyone got any ideas on this!
Thanks :surfweb:

Silly question , have you tried rebooting your PC? my modem is like this sometimes.

TRY A SYSTEM RE-STORE TO WHEN THEY WAS WORKING.

START-ALL PROGRAMS-ASSESSORIES- SYSTEM TOOLS-SYSTEM RE-STORE

CHOOSE A DATE THAT YOU CAN REMEBER COMPUTER WORKING CORRECTLY THEN CLICK ON IT.
YOUR COMPUTER WILL THEN RE-START ITSELF BACK TO THAT DAY. SO ANY SETTINGS THAT MIGHT HAVE CHANGED WILL CORRECT THEMSELVES BACK TO THE ORIGNALS ONES.

:thumbsup2

As kizzy said, system restore often works on these types of problem.

USB drivers are generic and come pre-loaded with win xp. If system restore wont work, open up the control panel (Start>Settings>Control Panel) and click on the 'System' icon. This will bring up a separate box with 7 tabs along the top. Click on the 'Hardware' tab, and then 'Device Manager'. This will bring up a box listing all of the hardware in your PC. If there is a problem with your USB ports, there will be a yellow exclamation mark beside it. Right-click the USB entry, and select 'Properties'. Another box will come up, on which you should select the option to 'Reinstall driver'.

This should, theoretically, resolve any USB problems. Let me know if it doesn't help :)

p.s Here is a screenshot showing the 'Device Manager' screen. The USB (Universal Serial Bus) entries are at the bottom of the box;
