Any particular week in September

We've done Disney in February, May, October, December - love them all - but we're thinking of trying September this year. Our original plan was for October, but since our schools started having Fall Break, it seems like it's getting more crowded then - wonder why. :rolleyes:

So, is there a particular week in September that is particularly low - I'm assuming not Labor Day, but I'm thinking maybe the last week in September. This gives my DD almost two months to get used to the school routine, as well as the teacher time to get to know her and her study habits, so that she will feel comfortable with me pulling her out for a few days. Never had a problem before with February or December, so I'm assuming September will go as easily with school. Talked to the teacher that she has now, and she said it all depended on who her teacher was, but that, most likely, it wouldn't be a problem. I wish I knew when their Fall Break would be this next year. This year, it fell around Columbus Day, so that didn't help with the crowds either.

Anyway, last week kinda low in attendance?

First time I took DS we went in September and we went the week after Labor Day (starting on the Tuesday after). There was NO ONE there. We walked onto everything and it was still plenty warm for swimming!! It was a GREAT trip! Things may have changed though--that was 2001. But we sure did enjoy it!

We went the last week of September last year and it was great. We walked right onto most rides. The only wait we had was on Saturday at MK. It was pretty crowded 30-45 minute waits on popular rides so we fast passed some
of those. The weather was nice. Took a couple pair of pants, however never got them out of the suitcase. We went swimming every night after the parks closed. Also, don't forget Epcot starts Food and Wine festival Oct 1st so that park might get crowded. We really didn't notice any difference there as far as the waits for rides but there were alot more people. Have fun!

We also usually arrive the wed after labor day and there in next to no one there. We didn't wait more than 10 min. for a ride. Only drawback is...it is hurricane season.

Hope the good luck with September continues. We just made ressies for Sept 17th-24th at CSR. Taking the DD out for a week because we could just not stomach the thoughts of the long lines. Looking forward to low crowds, good sunshine and lots of resort swimming. See you there? :cool1:

We'll be cruising 9/18-9/22 & then to the poly/MK 9/22-9/24. Its our first time, so I'm hopeful it won't be crowded! :cool1:

We took the kids in Sept, and it was very warm, but not unbearable.... the crowds were nil, but the one thing i didn't know about - and you may have heard about this already, was the "lovebug" situation.

This lil critters are everywhere in mating season. We were there the 26th of Sept. to the first week in October, and it seemed that love was in the air, literally!!!

One of my girls is skittish around flying insects and she was a basket case at first, cause the darn things are on everything, and she spent the first four days picking them off herself and whining...so if you have kids who hate bugs, you may want to familiarize yourself with the phenomenon.

All in all though, I'd still go again in Sept....in fact I'll be there Sept. 30-Oct. 3 of this year (but not with the bug leary kiddo)!

Last year we went the week after Labor Day and we walked right on. This year we are going Sept 4- 10 and are expecting it to be busy the first 2 days but hopefully dwindle down the rest of the week.

Lived in Florida all my love - VERY familiar with Love Bugs!!

The threat of hurricanes isn't bothering me either. Several of my friends left and went to Orlando when Ivan hit us. Hard to worry about your house when you're at Disney World!

If one is heading towards Orlando, we'll just postpone the trip - not much else you can do.

Mis4Mouse, we will be there at the same time. Are you not taking your kids? This will be our first time to WDW without children. I am a little leary of bugs but will try to make do. Besides we are at Disney!

DW and I went the week following Labor Day on 03 and absolutely loved it. No lines for anything, I honestly don't think we waited in line more than 20 minutes for ANYTHING. AND went to NOJ. AWESOME!

We will be there Sept. 15-23 (11 of us). Staying at Pop and CR. I know the weekend of Sept. 10th is Night of Joy, an annual event, which brings in the crowds. Other than that and Labor Day weekend, all should be OK, other than the love bugs, rain, humidity, and possible hurricanes, but we have no control over these things.
