We were lucky enough on our last trip to be at MK early enough for the opening extravaganza (the train). It was so fun and totally got us in the mood. Then when we were having a bun on Main Street there was a whole other "show" there with dancing, singing, etc...
Are there other opening "shows" at the other parks that I have been missing?

the Awakening. It's about a 15 minute show. The only problem with that show is you have to look from the outside to see the show. You are waiting in line to get in when they have the show. Well, if you are not in front it's a little hard to see the whole show. You can catch glimpes from further back, but it's not as good as being in the front.

I believe this show is still being done, but it's been a while since we've seen it. Others may be able to verify that it's still going on now.

The two "big" rope drops are now "cememonies/shows" at MK and DAK.
Both are performed during EMH mornings.
Both shows feature the characters with "speaking roles".
MK: at the trains station (with singing and dancing).
DAK: after your cross the bridge from the "Oasis" (no singing). It is called, "The Adventure Begins".
I havn't seen "The Awakening" for a long time... maybe yes, maybe no.

Epcot allows guests to "re-group" near Innoventions and CMs "hold" them until scheduled open time, then allow folks to go either way towards Soarin' or Test Track/Mission Space. On certain days, they bring on the double-decler bus loaded with characters at the opening.

MGM allows guests to "re-group" near the Call-Board.
There is a very breif recorded announcement (that "sticks it" to Universal Studios without directly saying so) and then everyone turns RIGHT, and walks quickly to ToT and/or RnRC.

At Epcot's International Gateway, there are reports of holding guests at a rope near the UK.

Nice to hear from another morning show fan! My DD loves the opening show at MK! We have spent countless hours performing "The Good Morning Express" at our deck railing. She was actually a little bummed when she found out we would be missing "the good morning song" for our ADR's at CRT.

At EPCOT, at about 15 min. to the park opening the cast members let you into the park, but the area near the singing/dancing water fountain is roped off, so you can't get to the attractions. Right before 9am, mickey and friends come to the ropes and countdown to the park opening. It is very cute and I really felt the magic!

Thanks for this info!! I'll make sure to see the Awakening at AK.
This DIS board rocks!! You all know so much! Thanks!
