My husband and I are young parents of a soon to be 3 year old. We will be taking him Disneyland in October a month after his birthday. We have nevereven taken him the fair so we are nervous to see what will happen. We have bought him picture books and videos about Disneyland so he will know what to expect. Is there anything else we can do? Or does anyone having any tips at all?! From traveling to inside the park, I need advice from vetern parents!

AS far as travelling- bring plenty to keep him entertained! We always buy clay, books, lace up cards, silly putty, snacks, drinks and small games to put in a backpack for each child.
In the parks, just go at his pace- nap and rest when he needs to and you will all enjoy the trip ! Also keep plenty of drinks on hand for him!
Have fun!

We took our DD to Disney World when she was 3 & she loved it! We also got Disney videos so that she would be familiar with character before we went. There's a Disney sing-a-long video that shows the characters & the park real well. We also explained to her her that some of the characters were actually bigger than Daddy since I had heard some small children were terrified of the characters when they first saw them. We started out with the breakfast at Cinderella's Castle to see how she'd do with those characters before meeting Pooh, Mickey or any of the masked characters. Also, rent or bring your own stroller since those little legs will wear out fast. The most important thing is to go at his pace. You're not going to see everything (good excuse to have to go back!), so don't try. Have a great time!

my DD has been going to disney since she was 18 mths old! never had a problem. wehn she was tired I would let her sleep and I would then use that tiem for me to go thru the shops with her sleeping in the stroller or we would go back to the room and both nap or I would take her to the outlets with me shopping while she slept. she is such a sound sleeper that she can sleep thru anything.
