We get 2 weeks off from work per year. So we have to make the MOST of those 2 precious weeks.
For over 10 years we used to go to Disney twice a year. Usually a 4 or 5 night stay over a week-end to stretch out our vacation days.
We don't make much money, but we do save all year long to afford vacations. Our vacations are very important to us and we don't ever want to give them up. We always want to get the best value for our money.
In 1992 we learned that we could get more for our $$$ on a cruise. We have taken 13 cruises since then and have always spent less than we would for the same number of nights in Disney.
We do love Disney and just had a wonderful week there in September. But it was our first trip to Disney in 4 years.
We will always take a vacation. (as long as health allows) We decide when we are going to go, and then explore all our options and select the best value available for the time we have.
Other than Disney/ or cruising, we have tried Myrtle Beach (great, but not convenient to travel to), Jersey Shore (close, but way overpriced for what you get, in our opinion), Bush Gardens/ Water Country Williamsburg (very nice parks, always worth consideration for us)
