Any other Preachers or Preacher's Wives out there?

Well my DH wants to be a pastor and he is already taking classes to lead to that. He is currently a lay speaker in our church. And i just got back from a mission trip as a chaperone in Kentucky!

I'm a Roman Catholic, studying to become a Permanent Deacon. I'll be ordained in May of 2007 (gulp!) :sunny: What a great journey it's been!

Not a preacher, or preacher's wife; however, I do love the lord and blessed that I had a wonderful daddy that guided me. I'm 41 and now see that his teachings were the best thing that he could have given me.

I'm planning to take my parents this October to Disney, this will be their first time and hope that they will enjoy it. I'm little afraid of some of the "ungodly" things that my daddy may see (read the most shocking things at Disney thread). He's very conservative and hope those things will not turn him away from Disney.

Not a preacher (of course) or preachers wife. I graduated from Baptist Bible college in Springfield Missourri, 1982. Was hoping to marry a minister of Gospel, or Music Minister. Not God's will, I came back home to Florida, and God hooked me up with a red-neck truck driver, that I love with all my heart. He is a "God's man", and we have been married for almost 22 years this July. We met and honeymooned at WDW.

I am the Church Hostess at my church, First Baptist Daytona Beach. Our Pastor, Dr. Bobby Welch is just finishing up his second term as President of our Southern Baptist Convention. He is one of God's best, and is not afraid to preach the truth. He is truely a man after God's own heart. He is retiring as our pastor this August after 32 years of pastoral service to our church. He will continue as our pastor "Emeritus", and continue to travel and speak and Preach. A Pastor never truely "retires".

Our church is quite proud of him. Just recently he was invited by President Bush to spend an hour with him in the oval office. And then, just this past tuesday, Pres. Bush asked him to be present in the Rose Garden at the White House when he, once again, let his heart be known for the protection and santity of marriage between a man and a woman as God intended.

In regards to Iraq, Bro. Bobby said, President Bush's heart breaks everytime we loose someone in the middle east, and is more devastated for the families left behind to grieve. Some people just don't understand how real this man is, and how much he sincerely loves his counrty and is truely doing what he feels led of God and his convictions to do. We must continue to pray for him as Fellow believers in Christ.

Blessings,
Winnie

This site is soooooo cool. I thought we were the only Christians out there that loved WDW. We are quite active in our church and my husband is the Praise and Worship leader. I am still caring for the kids but God has put on my heart a ministry for a Titus 2 womens ministry. God is so good to us and I want to give back a little of what He has blessed me with.
My hunny and i will be traveling in 106 days for the first time alone to WDW. We have taken the kids several times so this time will be quite an adventure for us. we still have 2 little ones at home and they are quite upset that we are leaving them for a week for Disney. I have mixed emotions about leaving them.
We will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at WDW. I cant wait. I think I will start counting the hours instead of days. We are both so excited.
:tinker:

DH is pastor of our church in Ohio, so that makes me a Preacher's Wife (something I said I'd never be, but as you can see God has a sense of humor and so here I am :rotfl2: ) We have 2 PK's and yes they act like everyone expects. But they are really the greatest :cheer2: We all love anything Disney and can't wait for our trip in less than 2 weeks. party:

My son will be ordained this fall (after 4 years of college and 4 of seminary). My brother is also an ELCA Lutheran pastor. I love going to WDW and both of them have enjoyed it in the past.

My son wants to take his wife to WDW and her and I were talking about it last week - she thought it would be better to wait until they had children (a ways away since she is in her first year of medical school.)

I told her that while I loved taking my children to WDW and had great memories of those trips that some of the best times I have had there were when my husband and I went alone.

It is great to hear from so many other Christians who love WDW!

God's blessings on you all.

Very cool Greg! Our parish has a permanant Deacon, he adds so much to the life of our parish!

My DH was a minister for many years, but 5 years ago we converted to Catholic and he chose not to pursue becoming a priest (we have friends who have done that, and one in the process). So now we are active in lay ministry.

I am a pastor here in sunny SoCal. My wife and I are avid WDW fans. Whenever we book a trip I try to set up a church to sing at while we are there. We now have an 18mo old daughter and can't wait till she is old enough to go.

Many blessings to you all

JJ

I am so excited reading this thread. I have already added to it but I really wanted to post again.

May sound crazy, but I've always struggled being a Disney fan and a Christian as when I was a teenager, my Christian friends looked down on it, I think it was because they thought Disney was unGodly. Only last year I know God told me that he was happy with who I am and that included Disney!!

Anywho, I live in the south of England and we are in the process of moving churches as we have moved to a new area. It is a hard process (but we know it has to be done) as our last church was fantastic. We have a great worship band who have written a lot of worship songs here in GB, in fact I know they've spent some time in the States - they are called Delirious? - ACC is their home church - really lovely guys.

Hello Everyone,

My DH and I live in Orlando, FL and he is an ordained minister. We moved here 2 years ago to start a church and my husband currently works at Disney and leads a Bible Study there each week. Please pray for us as we continue to search for a location to meet (as property/rental places here are outrageous!).

We both obviously love Disney as well and there are many good christian people that work there and try to spread the love of God.

Blessings to you all! :goodvibes

Not a preacher or pk or pw, but I do have two uncles who between them have spent almost 100 years in the Methodist ministry. I am a seventh-eighth grade English/grammar/writing teacher and I am the Litergist/Worship Leader at my church. I also direct our Vacation Bible School (coming up in 2 weeks).

I know Disney does things that we, as Christians, do not agree with, but so does the world in general, and we don't stop living in it just because of what they do. We have to let our light shine everywhere we go. I'm sure there are many more of us Christian Walt Disney World lovers out there; we just have to let it be known!! :cheer2:

I agree, and one of the things I really love about Disney is they have definitley left "Christ" in Christmas! I love the Candlelight Procession and the fact that they do Christmas so lavishly.

I love this thread. So nice to see other Christ lovers out there. My friends and family think I am crazy because I love the mouse too. But I know who is number 1 in my heart. :lovestruc

Boy, this sounds so familiar!! My DH is pastor of our church in PA, so "by default" that makes me the Preacher's Wife. Here's a difference though...I never said I wouldn't be a pastor's wife...I never even considered it!
My DH and I were "running wild" and not attending church so "pastor's wife" wasn't even something that ever crossed my mind! When our son took us to church and God "got a hold of us", we decided to get married and join the church. When my DH took a gifts assessment and it showed he had the gifts to become a pastor, I said NO WAY! :scared1:
Anyways, God "won" and here we are, a pastor's family!
The idea of becoming a Preacher's wife was scary to me at first because I thought I had to "live up to" a certain image, etc. The best advice I ever got about the position was to be myself. God gifts everyone differently, so don't try to be something you're not.
Anyways, with that being said, I'll add we're just a "normal" family that enjoys vacationing and Disney and our DD just loves to dress up as a princess. We had a great time there last year, and I for one am anxious to get back (hopefully soon ::yes:: )

I'm glad you've heard of them. They are really great guys who have a huge heart for God. They have a hard time here in the UK. They accept they will never make it into the mainsteam music industry as they are a "Christian" band. The BBC has banned their music but they will never compromise their worship for God. But they know it is for the right reason as they can live normal, humble lives here with their families.

I have to admit, I wanted to say more about my faith in my signature etc, but was anxious incase it was too "unPC". My "WWJD" stands for "what would Jesus do", but after seeing all your great bible verse signatures etc, I think I will be more bold. Obviously we are allowed :thumbsup2

BBC has banned them? You're kidding me! This world is quite the un-Godly place. No matter where you are, people are so desparate to keep God out of everything. It's why the world is the way it is at the present time. A couple years ago my church here in NJ was involved in a lot of Christian concerts, Delirious? was supposed to come, unfortunately it didn't work out. :sad2: I was so bummed, they help lead people to truly worship. I longed for that chance to worship with them! Maybe someday!!! I think I may have to search on iTunes and get some more of their music. :)
