I was wondering if anyone else got a letter regarding Pleasure Island Annual Passes. I got this letter today where Disney was totalling spining this new open gate policy. The gist of it was that "we" asked for more energy and action at PI and they want to give it to us. Thus the new open gate policy. Whatever. They also mention that they will be experimenting with other ideas, not limited to modified pricing plans. I was a little angry at first that they tried to spin it like it was something an AP'er would have asked for, but then they mentioned that to reward my loyalty and to keep me coming back they would extend my AP by 3 months. Seeing as mine expires in Sept and I'm going at the end of October/beginning of November, this worked out for me. I still don't think I'll like the new policy, but I'll take an extension on the AP.

I didn't get the letter yet, but that's great that you got a 3-month extension! I hope I do, too. Thanks for the heads-up and I agree with you, I don't like the new policy either.

As far as i know, ther has been no difference so far with pricing. Instead of getting your wristband at entrance turnstiles, you get it at the first club you enter at which time you shwo your ticket. Experience wise there are just more people milling about the walkways.

Under the old system, any guest could enter PI before 7 PM free. A guest without a wristband would have to exit, buy a ticket if necessary, and re-enter the turnstiles before entering any club.

While Disney extended your PI AP as a goodwill gesture, chances are no pricing changes will get implemented by its original expiration date.

I completely understand the new changes. And I know they haven't changed the pricing yet. But this letter states:

"Over the next several months, we will continue to test even more new concepts including, without limitation, modified pricing structures. These new concepts will be designed to bring more energy and excitement to the Pleasure Island clubs and to enhance the overall Guest experience."

So while they haven't change the pricing yet, it looks they may be doing some experimenting coming up.

Oh contrare!
From AllEarsNet.com:
Pleasure Island Ticket Prices DROP! As of August 15th, Pleasure Island will test a lower priced ticket at $16.95. This ticket will enable access to all clubs. In addition, the Pleasure Island Un-gated Policy will continue until further notice. (This was announced prior to the Hurricane)

Hmmmm, I wonder if that means the Hopper PLUS pass and the UPH pass will drop a smidge in price.

"I doubt it" (PS, if you live anywhere near the boston/south shore area of Mass, you may recognize that phrase as an annoying one by a certain non-actor furniture store owner talking it about lower prices elsewhere. LOL)
