Any other Hunter's widows?

My hubby just left for a week with the boys in the woods. I get the house to myself. It makes me long for my girls trip to WDW. Just wondering if there were any other women in my shoes. FEel free to PM me.

Oh yeah - I'm a hunting widow

I used to hunt with him but after bagging a 15 pointer he was no longer overjoyed to have me along. I see my hubby very little during hunting season - I am ready for it to end.

and didnt' go out with my hubby my son and our grandaughter......I did the church craft fairs and the schools .......nice quiet day with me and my doggie

We are not hunters but do live in the country. Next door is 20+ acres that is used every year for hunting. This year one of the hunters knocked on our door to let us know that he had permission to hunt on the vacant land next door and wanted us to know that he would be out there & asked would any of us be out on our land during this time. We stay off of our back acres during hunting season. We have a swingset etc,in the back yard for the grandkids & appreciate that he wanted to make sure no kids would be back in the woods.

Oh yes - I feel your pain. It's bad enough DH works out of town all the time, and now that hunting season is upon us, I hardly ever see him. But I got him GOOD this year.

My surgery date is scheduled for opening day of shotgun season.

Not any more.....DH decided to raise cattle instead of hunting. So now we butcher this time of year and sell to the guys who did not fill their tags. **sigh** It still gets hectic now....even without going out into the countryside.

ok getready,, i dont hunt, havent in 15 yeras or so,, ainly because around here its a big industry and i aint paying 400 plus a year to maybe bring home 50 lbs of meat,, i can purchase a side of beef cut the way i want fort hat any time and i love hunting season all you hunters widows that decide if he can spenbd cash on huntingi can spernd cash to gfet my kitchen redone or the m,aster bath, or the bedroom repainted hunting season is ussually one of our busiest times of the year, because unlike the other contractors around here we dont take off we keep working and will gladly work in extra gotta ber done while hes in the woods projects

Mine left last night and will be back Tuesday evening. He took his bow and guns for opening day on Monday. I don't mind him gone. I enjoy the big bed to myself (and the dog). Kids and I don't do much cooking while he is gone, either.

I'll join you and bring another bottle of wine! I was thinking of doing the exact same thing!
DH left last night and won't be back until next weekend. I'd love to go to WDW during this time, but someone needs to stay with the kids and run the practice schedules! 75 was horrible last night. I wasn't thinking when I turned on to get to the rink!

To no snoring next to you and no clothes left on the floor! (there are some bright sides to being left alone for 9 days!)

Where in michigan are you from. I am jsut north of ann arbor. go blue!!It took my DH 2 extra hours to get up north. 75 is always horrible.

DH left this morning for a week in Northern Michigan. What he doesn't know is I stopped at the fine jewelry counter today and bought a beautiful ring! I figure if he can spend over $200 on food and gas for a week of hunting, I can spend the same on something I like!!!
So everyone is happy...he is hunting with the guys, drinking and having a grand ole time, I have a sparkly new friend, get the TV to myself, and can turn the thermostat to whatever I want! Life is good!

I'm between Pontiac and Flint... small town. One of those "Oh look! Isn't that town cute!" towns... DH is up in Paradise at our cabin.

Ladies... the Coach outlet is up and running in Birch Run! No more travels to West Branch or begging DH to pull over when you do go up with them. Yet another reason to enjoy the time alone! I went last weekend "during" hockey practice! Made it there and back and no one knew I was missing from the rink!

I live in one of those towns too. Only had 50 ppl in my high school class.

LOL Just run up 23 and keep going! Exit 136! I might have to go for part two and get the matching wallet before the hockey game tomorrow. Last week I called DH and said "just warning you... they opened IT" He knew what it was and just moaned. Hockey tomorrow is in the 69/75 area so I'll only be 15 miles south!
