I've been watching this storm like a hawk for the past two days. We live in Melbourne and from the projected path it looks like it will come pretty close to our location Friday night. Also we both work in residential group homes so we'll be oncall or working during the storm so I'm worried about my babies (2 dogs and cat). I can't bring them with me and niether can DFiance. Any ideas??
I'm worried, even in the best outcome will end up with 60-75 miles and upwards sustained winds. How much damage will this do. We live in a 30+ year old house.
Anyone else worried?

I'm a little worried, because we just built a house in FL and we're not there yet. It's in Central FL, so hopefully the storms will die down before they make it there. I'm mostly worried about water getting in under the door or under the eaves and causing problems because we're not there to notice.

Can you bring your pets to a neighbor's house to wait out the storm while you work?

No, not really.

Charlie will cross the entire length of the state before it gets here, so I am anticipating it will weaken before it's arrival.

But, needless to say, I won't be taking the boat out this weekend.
