Any Other DVC Members Going On The DIS Unplugged Cruise?

We will be there, and we are DVC'ers at VWL. (I was one of the winners from last week's podcast)! I am totally thrilled to be going!

We will also have our DD who will be 9 during the cruise with us. We struggled with this too, but I know the standardized testing will be over by then, and she'll only have two more weeks of school left when we get back.

Besides, I just can't see leaving her home while we're on a Disney cruise. She's been dreaming about going back ever since we went on our first 4 night cruise back in Nov '05.

I'm hoping she'll meet up with some of the other Dis'ers' kids in the kids club!

You're better off adding her to the reservation now...and then removing her later if you find out her school schedule definitely excludes her from going. The reason for this is the kids' programs won't allow any more once they reach capacity. I don't remember the exact details, but I'm pretty sure there's information about it in the main cruise thread.

Just wondering if any others are planning on the DIS Unplugged Cruise on 5/10/09? There are already over 200 people from the DISboards going and I think it's going to be great fun. Group rates, credits, plus an excellent offer at the Dolphin Hotel @ $99 night for pre/post cruise stays (for those of us that never have enough DVC points!). Here's a link to the cruise thread:

We are going Just trying to decide if we want to take advantage of the Dolphin deal. I think with all the moving around, transportation could get expensive. We are taking our kids, DD8 and DD11 (at the time). Hope to see other kids there. Right now it's looking like a lot of adults.

For those DVC members that want to take part in this cruise, John had a great idea. You can rent/transfer your points and end up ahead on paying cash for the cruise. Then you can still take advantage of the cruise incentives.

We received a Captains Log Book with pen...cute...with DVC Lanyards! An invite to a members celebration.....Oh and if you go the DVC desk/podium...you may get a read baseball cap....for everyone in your party, so we got 5!

nope! Although, the members cruise...you get serious "swag' in your rooms every night I think!!

I'm also going on the podcast cruise. Booked shortly after they made the announcement. I'm already very excited and it's still over a year away. You can count me as one of the solo travelers going on this cruise. I think there are a few of us. Originally, I was going to use my points to stay at the Boardwalk before and after the cruise, but the $99 Dolphin rate is soooo good that I decided to do that instead. Looking forward to meeting everyone.
