The DS in Houston that is most convienent to us is only allowing one of each pin to be bought by each purchaser. I am glad that they are doing something to help curb the problem of people grabbing handfuls. However, it would be nice to be able to buy 2 - one for me, and another for trade. Unfortunately, since somebody has to be here to get DS to his activities on Saturdays, either DH or I have to make the trip to Houston alone, so no traders for me. I'm sure that we could go back later to pick up more pins, but that isn't really possible since we have to drive 90 miles (one way) to the store already, every Saturday. Last week, I called the DS on Sunday with a question. I asked if any of the pins were left, and the CM told me that they had two or three pins total remaining.

Just wondering if any other stores are doing the same.

There apparently is no consistency in the way respective DS handle pin distribution. Last week, Week 1, nearly became a riot. People running, shoving and literally stripping every pin and even the racks holding the pins off the display. Cast members stood back in horror, eyes and mouths wide open. This week, Week 2, was totally different. Although they did not honor Disney's "new" policy of 5 pins of each style per customer, many customers were only buying 1-2 of each one. Safe to say, the #1 Walt and Mickey created the big ruckus last week.

I visited 2 DS yesterday, well after opening, and found all pins at one and 2 missing from the other. Let's see what week 3 holds in store.

If anyone can get down here to the Rio Grande Valley (about 5 1/2 hours from Houston), there is 1 DS in McAllen, and I don't think anyone will have trouble getting all the pins they want. I think I'm the only one in the Valley who collects pins. The first week, I went 2 hours after the store opened, and there were lots of every kind of pin. I was in there for about 1/2 hour, and no one else bought any pins except me. Boy, hearing some of these stories on the boards, I am so grateful! Next week, I'll be in Corpus Christi and I'll see how their DS is on pins. BTW, the DS in McAllen is right next to the airport-walking distance if anyone's interested!
