It is so hard to imagine that a count of 1 millon sperm is considered zero count. Good Luck Kristine

KristineN, hang in there. I know it may be hard, but try to stay positive

Well, still no AF and yet I've had period cramps for over a week now. They were pretty intense about 2 days prior to my scheduled AF, then subsided to minor cramps. Now they seem to be getting a little worse (nothing like the 2 days prior to my scheduled start date). I'm going to call my OB/GYN tomorrow to make an appointment.

This is driving me nuts! But DH and I are still being positive that I am pregnant.

Back from the IUI...

still low numbers...but at least we are done. I am looking forward to 2 weeks without any shots and having to think about all this.

Like I said, I'm not holding my breath...but I suppose miracles do happen :)

Thank you all for the good thoughts!!! I really appreciate it!

Kristine, I will be thinking good thoughts for you today as well. I really would love to see a few BFPs here :)

Allison, I will continue to keep my fingers crossed for you. If anything try not to think too much now and enjoy the month off. August 10th will be here before you know it.
If you do go see Ratatouille let me know what you think. I can't decide if I want to see it or not. I was only okay with Cars, not my favorite so I don't hold near as much hope for Ratatouille
Oh and glad that you had a blast with your DS at his BD party!

Hard to believe huh?

thank you! Continuing to send you positive vibes :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Thank you Lisa, I was about to go look up to see where on teh spectrum the count fell. And yes, very hard to believe!

Kristine, fingers crossed still. They say it only takes one!!!

Cybrktn, thinking very good thoughts for you. I know I had AF like cramps with both pregnancies (once in a while I still do as the uterus moves and stretches) but it could go either way I know. Glad you will have a call in tomorrow.

Nicole, glad you liked the pics. I had realized I had all these side shots but no face.... gets hard to do that when you are using a DSLR camera :rotfl: So the last one I stuck in of the two of us was from November a few days after the D&C. You can tell that my DH knows how to make me happy no matter what ::yes::

I was thinking about Kevin's sperm count when we were doing IUI's. It was 67 and 42 millon arround that number and I had to think and laugh that with all that sperm one of them couldn't find my egg. It was probably because they refused to ask for directions.

Hello Ladies :goodvibes

Elaine: So good to put a face to the name. You look wonderful :goodvibes

KristineN: I hope your IUI turns out positive!!!!

Allison: I'm glad your DS's b-day was fun!!!

I'm CD 9 (10 by the time you read this) so I guess we shall see in a few days whether my DH's swimmers (he had 90-100 million but how they can count them all is beyond me) asked for directions this time :lmao: :rotfl:

Our beach trip was wonderful. The weather was beautiful!! Here is a photo I took on Saturday afternoon.

Rebecca, that picture is beautiful!

Kristine...I agree with Elaine...It only takes one! Don't give up hope!! Enjoy your two weeks "off." I know when my O day finally arrived, I was so thrilled to have those two weeks not to think about it all. It's ashame that it has to come to that...but after over a year, it's hard not to feel that way I suppose.

Lisa, LOL! That's a good one!

Well, 4 years ago today, at this time, DH and I were frantically driving to the hospital because my water broke at 35w6d. DS was later born at 12:42pm, 6lbs 7oz, 19 in. :goodvibes It's hard to believe it's been four years already! But at the same time, it feels like he's been here forever and I can't really remember what life was like without him. :)

Anyone have big plans for the 4th? We're heading to my inlaws for the day. Hopefully it's not TOO hot! We leave for the wedding in Dallas on Friday. Should be a busy week with so much going on! I'm glad since AF is due this weekend...hopefully being busy will keep my mind off of things!

ETA: We saw Ratatouille yesterday. Not sure if I spelled that right! I was surprised because the theater was pretty packed. DH and I enjoyed it. I think DS liked it, but he was a bit sleepy before we arrived and there were too many people scenes and not enough rat scenes for his liking. A few times he kept asking, where are the rats? The short at the beginning, Lifted is what I think it's called, is really funny. We enjoyed it, but it's definitely not a Toy Story, Monster's Inc. or Nemo.

Rebecca, that picture is absolutely gorgeous!!!!!!!! Where did you go again, because I want to go there now :teeth:

Allison a very big happy birthday to your DS :bday:

We have minor plans for the 4th. If we are up in time, there is a parade we might go to with the family. If not, we'll got to my dad's for the day and have a cookout. Need to bring my knitting since I have that shower I am going to on Sunday. I do hope to watch fireworks, but with it being rainy all day we'll see

How would you compare Ratatouille to Cars? I only thought Cars was okay. I think we liked Toy Story and Monster's Inc best out of the Pixar.

We are still waiting for something to develop. They’ve upped my Gonal-F shot twice now and I go back for monitoring on Thursday. Hopefully something happens! Apparently I have a bunch of small little eggs developing but none seem to want to get any bigger than the others. It is day 22 of my cycle. I think it might be day 200 before it is done! 

I have a question…..Does anyone know what will happen if I am in the beginning of a cycle and going on vacation for a week? Can they work around that or will they advise me not to start another cycle until I am back? We are supposed to go on vacation in August from Friday – the NEXT Sunday and it occurred to me that at the rate that I am going now, I could be early in a new cycle if this one doesn’t work.

For those who use Fertility Friend, I have another question. I am using it to basically keep track of my cycle days. I am not temping or anything anymore since I figure they are monitoring me better than I would. However, I’d love to keep track of the days I go in for monitoring and the dose of Gonal-F that I am on. Is there a way to do that other than just putting it in the ‘notes’ section?

Skuttle – We saw Ratatouille during the sneak preview. My Husband and I loved it, but our five year old was somewhat bored. We got to see Pirates of the Caribbean afterward and she LOVED that more. Not sure why she didn’t like it though. Pixar movies are usually a huge hit with her. We have Cars stuff from one side of the house to the other, I think!

Hi ladies!

Rebecca...gorgeous picture! I agree, I'd like to be there NOW myself! :)

Thanks for the good thoughts...I know it only takes 1...guess, we'll see. In the mean time I did make an appointment to see a different doctor on July 12. He seems to be one of the big guys in this practice....I feel I need another opinion. My current doctor seems to be winding down (he's gotta be close to retirement) so I am not 100% confident that he's the right guy for us.

I stepped on the scale today & almost fainted...I am up 10 pounds since starting all these injections :scared1::scared1::scared1: I am not a skinny chick to start...so I was NOT happy.

Continued :goodvibes vibes :goodvibes for positive results, growing embies, growing follicles...no AF....etc etc.

Allison: A big Happy Birthday to your DS!!!!

Elaine: We were at my favorite beach called Driftwood Beach just outside of Waldport Oregon. It is a beautiful beach and there is usually nobody there so that makes it extra nice.

shmoogrrrl: I'm not sure what they would do...maybe one of the IVF girls will be able to answer for you. I just hope that you don't need to worry about it because you will get your BFP this time!!! :wizard:

No big plans for the 4th here. The area we live in is shut down for fire season so that means no fireworks of any kind. And after being evacuated last year for a fire (started by lightning strike) I perfectly fine with that.

I think we need to start up the chant again...

:cheer2: NO AF (except for Denae) NO AF (except for Denae) NO AF (except for Denae) :cheer2:

Rebecca, what a beautiful pic, thanks for sharing! i need some beach time! lol

Elaine- great photo album too, you look great!

Allison- happy bday to your son. glad the party went well. sorry your appt got bumped back, but really August will be here before we know it!

Lisa- lol at asking for directions.

Schmoogirl- as for vacationing--i know my office was pretty direct about not being open/willing to work around me being out of town during the prime time of a cycle. i had some possible conflicts with my IUIs for travelling with work, so i worried about that too. in the end my cycle worked out where i didn't have to worry about it. if i was gone during the 2WW, no biggie. But if you are going to be gone during any of the time when they would need to do appts for ultrasounds (i.e. during probably the first 2 weeks of your cycle while you are stimming etc.), then you will probably have to reschedule your cycle. If you are going to be gone when you are just doing BCP, lupron or something else, probably no biggie. But keep in mind once you start stimming- they usually want to see you every other day starting on about day 3, 4, or 5 of stims to check your follies. so that week is pretty critical, and of course the ER follows shortly thereafter. I was on stims for 10 days, so i had to be available during that whole time in case they needed me to come in for a check.

Kristine- sorry the IVF got cancelled, but glad you got in 2 IUIs. you never know how it will go, but just concentrate on you now and just relaxing without 'shooting up' for a few weeks! ;) :cool1: oh and the weight gain is killer. you aren't alone there. i gained so much in my year on drugs. it is an unfortunate side effect of the treatments, not to mention the horrible bloating. don't stress too much about it and know that when you do get pregnant, you will gain anyways. right? anyways- wishing you the best of luck!!

Well, I placed a call at my doctor's office this morning. The reception desk put me through to the nurse's voice mail and I left a message.

I got a call back late this morning from the nurse. She was going around the bush that I could tell she didn't think I needed to make an appointment, going on about cycle changes and it being normal as well as telling me that I'm probably not pregnant if 4 tests came back negative. But I'm thinking that maybe I was a bit over anxious when I tested :rolleyes1  . I tested on 6/23, 6/24, 6/28 and 6/30. The 23rd being what would have been the first day of my AF.

She asked me if I wanted a blood test done or to come in, so I said blood test. Our conversation ended with the nurse telling me that she will check with my doctor to get the approval. If I don't get a call before 5, then the prescription will be in the mail for me.

Hi Cybrkitn: I say this out of love and I in no way mean it negatively or meanly so please don't take offense....but - if AF was due on the 23rd and you got a negative test 1 week later (meaning 7 days after the date of your expected period) - that is a pretty good indication that this might not be the month for you -- there should be enough HCG in your urine to detect a pregnancy when you are one week late -- one week late would be three weeks after conception.

When I got my BFP -- conception was on Tuesday Feb 13th (via IVF) and my first positive pregnancy test showed up on Thursday Feb 22nd which was 9 days after conception -- by my blood test on Feb 28th (15 days/ 2 weeks and 1 day after conception) the HCG level in my body was over 300 -- the Home Pregnancy tests can dectect HCG at anything over 25 and the digital tests at anything over 50. HCG is supposed to double ever 48 hours or so...

So - while it is strange that there is no AF yet - if your period was due on June 23rd meaning you ovulated and if you conceived it was around June 9 or 10 -- then by June 30th - with your period a week late - you should get a positive result -- I am sorry for this post - I don't mean to be mean or obnoxious - just trying to be helpful.

How old are you? Cycles change and sometimes very fast -- you can be normal normal normal and then bam the next month AF is long or changed or different.

I would take another HPT if it was me and then I would start temping and charting.

My periods were very regular prior to the pill - then I was on the pill for 10 years of so - then I came off the pill and the doctor said it would take a bit for my cycle to regulate again -- I got AF about a month off the pill -- the next month my cycle was 48 days long --- I tested about 100 times during that time convinced that AF had not shown because I must be pregnant -- I kept getting negatives but yet - no AF -- turns out my cycle had changed as a result of a hormone problem and that is why it was so long that month -- the next month was like 21 days...

Anyway - not trying to freak you out. But I would wait for AF this month and then start temping and charting just in case. Hopefully your doctor will order a blood test to put your mind at ease. However, you should know that a beta (blood pregnancy test) at many walk up clinics does not require a prescription -- you can just go to a blood testing place and request the test on your own. Here is a little blurb about it from another forum I am on - in blue below.

Okay.......for all you peestickaholics or whatever Kimztwinz said about preconception dementia something.....you might be able to relieve your symptoms!!!! And early!!!

I found out today at my prenatal that for some basic tests in many states you do NOT need a doctor's order! YOU as the patient can order your test. We were discussing thyroid testing that I need done on a regular basis and it is allowed to be self referred here. So, I went to the lab site to see what else is there....................

And....low and behold on the list......... SERUM QUANTITATIVE PREGNANCY TESTS.......NO referral necessary! Just stop in and request it be done. At my local lab, they charge $20. Due at the time of service and they will NOT bill insurance, but $20! WHOOHOO

It is called "Direct Access Testing" and here is a generic article about it:

http://www.labtestsonline.org/lab/labtypes-6.html

"Through a Direct Access Laboratory
As with home testing, direct access testing (DAT) has been growing in popularity over the past few years. Currently, 34 states permit health care consumers to order their own lab tests – without a medical order from their health care provider. Also known as patient authorized testing, DAT is another reflection of how health-conscious Americans have become and the opportunities available for them to take a more active role in their own health care. "

So, perhaps check with your local lab or labs and ask about "direct access testing" and if they offer it!

Good luck!!

Hugs,
Nicole

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes for Colin. :) I think he had a great day...he had a spiderman cookie cake at daycare, then we went to chick-fi-la for dinner and played in the play are, then we ended the night by picking up a new transformer. DH had a late music rehersal tonight, so it was just me and DS. We had a lot of fun. He had to get two shots this morning at his 4 year old check up, but he was so brave and didn't cry long at all. I think I would have been worse than he was!

Cybrkitn...I think I agree with Nicole. Unless, of course, you could have O'd later than you are thinking. I wouldn't waste anymore time/money on HPT. I'd definitely keep trying to get in for a blood test!

Kristine, I hope you are able to find a dr you really click with. I think it really does make a difference, especially during such an emotional time like TTC.

Elaine...We really enjoyed Cars, but I think Cars was more for little kids than Ratatouille. Ratatouille had some really funny parts, and I didn't feel let down. But, for my DS, there just were not enough rat scenes. LOL! Remy (the rat chef) is there throughout the movie, of course, but the other rats only make limited appearances, especially in the middle. I enjoyed it, just not as much as some of the other Pixar movies. But for little kids, seeing animated people just doing normal things (ie, no superpowers like the Incredibles) just isn't as interesting.

Schmoogirl, I know we definitely enjoyed Ratatouille a lot more than DS. I really think is for the reasons I told Elaine...animated people doing normal things, like cooking, just isn't that interesting.

Nicole...your ticker's comment re Kate Moss is too funny!

I stepped on the scale today & almost fainted...I am up 10 pounds since starting all these injections :scared1::scared1::scared1: I am not a skinny chick to start...so I was NOT happy.

I just had the same thing happen to me, but only 5. I'm hoping that maybe it is all the icky bloating that I feel. I really don't need to gain back weight that I lost!

7beasly, thank you for your input and no, I'm not offended at all. To answer your question about my age, I just turned 36 on the 24th.

Skuttle, it could have been that I ovulated later. The nurse suggested that as well and I'm hoping that's what it is.

Since I didn't hear back from my doctor's office before 5, the prescription for the blood test is on the way.

Well good luck with the blood test. Sometimes a sign of rapid weight gain could be ovary stimulation. I can't remember if you are doing IUI with injections. If you are doing injections I am surprised that they didn't order a blood test whenAF was due.

Cybrktn, just curious, do you not do tests at your doctor's office? If I need one done I just go right on in and they'll do it. I know not all doc offices are the same though. Also I can't recall, have you ever been pregnant before? Some women just don't show much hcg in urine nad require blood tests

Sorry for all those who are bloaty and gaining weight. I hope that it will be a teeny side effect that will be worth it in the end

Allison, I am glad that Colin seemed to have a good day... shots included  Thanks for your thoughts on the movie. We might hold out on it for a while. We still haven'et seen Ocean's 13 yet either though so that comes first anyway.

Rebecca, I thought htat looked like the west coast. Sadly I probably will never make it there... I hate flying that far  I've done it once recently to go to DL but I don't see us doing that often because of it. I get insanely clausterphobic after about 2 hours of flying.
