Well the beta came back negative but the projesterone level was low so if I was to do another cycle then they might put me on birth control pills
Sorry if I missed something... are you trying to get pregnant? If so, why would they give you bcp?
I've been afraid to come around lately - after my bfp a couple weeks ago DH & I were practically holding our breath until the u/s this morning. All is well! We're at 6 weeks and the baby had a nice, healthy heartbeat! What a RELIEF after the dud a couple months ago (had 3 good betas, but the u/s showed an empty sac). We're finally starting to get excited!
This was our 3rd attempt through the fertility clinic...
Attempt 1: follistim/ovadril/IUI - had a blood test done 1 week after IUI, showed progesterone to be too low (had to be above 3 for ovulation, above 20 for fertilization - I was at 15). Started on crinone (progesterone supplement) right away, but the beta came back negative.
Attempt 2: Same routine: follistim/ovardril/IUI - but started the crinone the day after IUI. As I mentioned above - 3 positive betas, but the 6 week u/s showed the sac and couldn't find the baby. Came back 2 weeks later to find we were at the exact same stage. Was able to miscarry naturally a week later. AF came about 5 weeks later, waiting until next AF, and then tried again
Attempt 3: Same routine: follistim/ovardril/IUI/crinone day after IUI. 3 good betas, and now an excellent u/s! That brings us to today! Due date: August 7, 2007. I go back to my regular OB next week, and I have to stay on crinone for 4 more weeks (to make sure my progesterone stays up until the placenta can take over).
We're still being extremely cautious - only because I'm nervous about losing it - but I guess that's somewhat normal. We're still going to wait to tell our family until sometime in January.
So... you all keep going - don't give up!
