I feel bad, like we have taken over the TTC board...

I have my appointment tomorrow. I don't know if we have an ultrasound. I assumed we would but maybe not??

ETA: Emily ~ When Dh and I started TTC last Christmas I bought a few really cute outfits from BABY GAP on clearance for Christmas. Just a jumper and sweater that could be either boy or girl. I believe they were 3-6 months. Obviously those can't be used with this baby, but my best friend's girl might be able to use them!! I have bought a few onsies, white or neutral, onsale at TJMax or something for this baby but that's it. I got the cutest Ralph Lauren polo onsie that is blue with tropical color's on it. It could work for either... it was on clearance for $12. I HAD to get it.

I actually want to start getting some stuff soon since we won't really have a shower and I don't want to have to buy everything all at once. Most of the stuff that I want (stroller/carseat/swing) are neutral because I happen to like them the most. I'll wait for the crib set and stuff until we know because I have one picked out for each!! The crib and changing table will be our biggest purchase and probably done in February or so!!

DH and I haven't actually gotten anything for the baby yet. We've looked at the babies r us catalog when it comes but haven't gotten around to getting anything. We are thinking and underwater theme for the room though. We both love scubadiving and have to start brainwashing the kid early into the wonders that is the Ocean. ;)
On the other hand, my mom and his mom have already dressed the kid into 6 months after it comes! <HA>

OMG- peanut butter- yuck!! I had forgotten my disdain for peanut butter lately. I tried to make myself a pb & j and was just grossed out before I finished making it. had to throw it out.

Hi everyone! AF is slowing down a little. I was able to clean the sheets all the way, and most of the mattress. I'm pretty good at cleaning blood since I'm a nurse. ;) I'm just counting down until the BD takes place! Dh knows about the mess the other night, and I told him he better do something about it this month so I don't have to bleed for a long time! :thumbsup2

Jen- Garlic and cheddar goldfish with peanut butter? You are quite the friend!

Disney Dreamer- Sounds like you are obsessed with HPT like a lot of us, including myself! I have two words: DOLLAR STORE! lol I stock up there. It varies how soon you can get a positive for each person. Both times I was pregnant before, it didn't show up until the day I was due for AF.

Everyone: Do you know, or plan on finding out the sex of the baby? I love shopping for baby stuff as well. It just seems not as fun to buy green and yellow. I would love to know the sex ahead of time, but we didn't find out with my son. It was fun hearing people say what they thought and why, and you can't beat that day after 27 hours of labor, they say it's a boy! :goodvibes

Wow - so much exciting news on here!

I have been feeling really crapy lately - cramping, lots of gas, dizziness, hot flashes and nauseau - but AF just ended on Sunday?? Weird. Maybe just a flu bug or something. I just feel yucky.

So - my OB is the same person I have had for the last 9 years. The problem is, I started seeing her when I was in college. I have since then moved to a town about an hour away - but continued going to her b/c I liked her so much, and it was only 1x a year. Do you think I should change to an OB who is closer to me now that I am TTC? I guess I am just nervous about driving an hour when I am in labor to the hospital she is assocaited with! (Especially since there is a hospital about 10 min away from me now!) I am also nervous starting a new relationship with a new doctor at this critical time. What do you guys think??

Jen - well, sadly, I think your friends combo sounds REALLY good! I love pb and cheese together. And I routinely eat my PB sandwiches with onion or garlic chips on it :) Tell your friend I think she is the bees knees :bounce:

Hope you feel better soon so you can bd!

I would get a new doctor. I just switched. I got recommendations from co-workers. Ask around. Even post a note on a bulletin board at work or something. I'm sure you'll find another you like.

I 2nd the get a new doctor suggestion. An hour away doesn't seem far now, but will if you have any type of emergency.

I also think you should get a new doctor. DH and I moved the month we got our BFP. I am going to one doctor now that I really like, but the hospital he delievers at is no longer on my insurance so I am switching in the next mnth or so to someone recommended by a girl I work with. So long as my tests come back ok and I am not highrisk.

Ask the old Dr if she can recommend anyone in the area you are now in.

Like "Wanted, Bug Doctor" :lmao:

Anyway, I agree, look for a new doctor. I would ask your current doctor for a recommendation - not just for a good doctor, but for a good practice - in your area. Your doctor may not be the person present at your delivery, so you will want to make sure they are all good.

Denae

I'd look closer to home too. My doctor is about 1/2 hour away, but there's no one else closer than that (aren't you glad you don't live in the back woods of nowehere?) I'd be a bit nervous with an hour ride if there was an emergency.

Jen

My OB and hospital is over an hour away. I'm not changing. Worst possible scenario is that I deliver in Melrose (on the way, but closer). My doctor won't be there, but I hear it's a really nice place to deliver.

I'm not overly concerned about the distance. There is the obvious risk of going into labor during the morning commute, which would make the commute to the hospital about 2 hours.

I adore my OB....he is on call 24/7/51 - he takes a week off every year to go to WDW. :goodvibes

DH is fully prepared to deliver me on 93 south. :rotfl: My OB says it's not a problem and, if I'm lucky enough to have a 2 hour labor and deliver in the car, I shouldn't complain. ;)

For emergencies....I've driven an hour for emergencies before so I can see doctors I trust, so I'm willing to do it. Unless I need to call an ambulance, I don't mind driving an hour.

But, that's just me....I also work 1.5 hours away from home! I live in my car and an hour in the car to me is nothing! :)

Okay I am still stuck on garlic cheddar and PB. Ummm... yuck!!!!!!!!!!

Before I go on, I added pics to the Kitten Album
here is one I just love!!!

I know that 150 rule went away several years ago. I'm one of those "clique" people who hang out on two threads (both over 150). I think one is at like 15,000 posts or something

Rebecca, welcome to the group! I totally know what you mean about seeing everyone else around you getting pregnant. I went over 9 months of trying and it was starting to kill me every time I heard someone was pregnant. Actually a friend of mine is due while I am at WDW, and a small part of me was glad that I wouldn't be home to hear it all... especially since I was sad when I found out she was pregnant (right after I was 1 day late and then was hit with AF) in the first place ;)
As for the BFP, it will depend on the test, and actually the person too. Just depends on when/how much the hormones show up. I was actually very good with this time and waited until I was 1.5 days late before I tested.

Carla, I am so glad that your numbers came back so good! I hope everything keeps going well for you. How sad that your RE is closing shop there though. I really have a feeling that this was the time and she'll leave knowing she was able to help you out :goodvibes:

Denae, hope your cramps lighten up soon!

Andrea, I will be just a smidge over 6 weeks at the ultrasound. I have thought about miscarrying a multiple... I suppose all I can do is wait and see if this does pan out. I did talk with my doctor on the phone this morning (she was out yesterday) and she was making sure I was okay with waiting a couple more days. She wants me at least 6 weeks because before then it can be very sketchy with what you see. I was going to be seen by a NP, but she is going to see me instead and really did give me the option to come in a day or so earlier. I figure what's the point and a couple days may show something better.

Emily, sending you lots of baby dust for you!!!! And how cool that you found something already. I admit with all the trouble we've had, I hadn't been able to bring myself to getting anything yet.

Jen, I would be glad to eat the tomato soup for you! I love that stuff ;)

Kellyfan, I love what you said to your DH :teeth: As for finding out the sex, I am pretty sure I will not want to find out. Call me crazy, but I am not keen on the whole pink for girls and blue for boys thing anyway. If we have a girl, I will avoid pink. I really cannot stand that color (thanks to my mom). I also wish they would stop putting sports on the boys clothes. So I have a feeling if we ever have a kid, we'll stick to unisex stuff. I much prefer yellow and green anyway.

Kellyf, sorry you aren't feeling well. I wouldn't know if it was a bug or not. Just take care of yourself. As for a doc, unless you are rural and used to going far, I would say go find yourself a new doctor. I would also suggest talking to yours to get a referral for good practices. They may know of someone good. Oh and you might also find out that your doc has an office elsewhere. Mine has one like 2 blocks from me, and then one 30 minutes away. You might find one a bit closer :)

Carla, awesome ticker there! I am so happy for you still :teeth:

Carla! A ticker!!!!

I am SOOOOOO happy that I am going to leave this thread knowing that you are pregnant!

(Not that I won't be around to check up on everyone every once in a while).

I totally bought stuff before I was pregnant. Can't help it! My in-laws are taking us baby shopping this weekend, and I'm so excited. Other than a few outfits, the only thing I have is a diaper bag.

Elaine- I'm haing an u/s thursday also- I'll be thinking about you!

Thank you for all of your input! I think I will switch to a different OB. :thumbsup2 I actually have already been asking around, and many women in the area are extremely happy with a specific office. So, I will probably go there. It is nice b/c they have one office about 10min away from my home and work, and another office about 20min away. And, they are both associated with Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH - which is about 15min away from me. So - I think I will call tomorrow.

So, since I am switching...do you think its ok to ask for an appointment to go in and meet at least 1 of the doctors? :confused3 I would like to sit down and explain how I am currently TTC, review my history, etc... What do you think? I know it will probably take a while to get the appointment - but I don't want my first visit to be when I get my BFP! I would be so nervous!

I work an hour from home too. Almost everyone else I know lives minutes from work. How did you find an OB? My doctor in town said she can recommend one to me, but she would have me go to the University which is an hour from my house (2 hours from work!). There is a hospital 25 minutes from home and 25 minutes approx. from work, but I don't know anyone who has delievered a baby there.

I just have to know before. We are only going to have one and I really want to prepare a room for a boy or girl. I like green, but I love pink and tinkerbell and such. If it is a boy I am thinking about Mickey. I am not sure if we will tell others though.

I started a brand new Dr when I found out I was pg. I had gotten new insurance and was actually able to see a real Dr instead of going to my school's clinic. It really wasn't a big deal starting with someone new.

I had to switch doctors when I was sick. I really liked my original Doctor- but she wasn't helping my hyperemesis and I was desperate, so I ended up seeing another doctor and he was MUCH more aggressive in treating me, and I felt better in his care, so I just switched altogether.

When I was pg with DD I started at a new OB, I chose the only woman in the office because I just felt more comfortable with her. Well, 4 months into everything she up and moved to Montana! I switched to a man in the office and was ok with him. When I went in for my 8 week check up after I delivered, there was a sign welcoming her back.
