Good Morning

I just saw a new doctor yesterday. I really like her. I need to have some bloodwork done (diabetes, thyroid) since my cycles are wacky. It will be a few weeks before I know the results, so until then I am just trying to relax.

good luck Amber- at least you can breathe easier knowing you have a doc that is following protocol and doing all the necessary testing. My ob/gyn just ran a thyroid panel on me in late December since she said my throat looked swollen and noticed past lab work was a little off. plus i am super wacky on my cycles (well not anymore since i've been on meds for 9 months with fertility treatments)...turned out to be fine.

well still cold here in Dallas. I can't imagine what it's like in Oregon though, disneydreamer- good luck on waiting for AF too- i hope she stays far away for you.

well got the fedex notice this am that all my $2500 worth of drugs are sitting on my doorstep. i might run home at lunch to grab them....sure don't want those disappearing! lol

here's all my crazy IVF drugs and syringes! ouch!

This has me laughing because of the wine in the picture too... if I had to figure out what to do with all those drugs I would need it as well :rotfl:

Rebecca, I forgot to say earlier how much I liked the idea of the pomegranate colored bracelet. I'll have to be creative when I got out to the craft store the next time. I need to get black dye to fix a bleach spot on my fave Ohio State sweatshirt :teeth:

Denae, congratulations on the raise!!! That is awesome! Sorry that you fell on the ice though. I am so over winter too!

What else have I missed? I have been so busy I know I read Nicole stopped back, but i can't remember if I said anything or not :p

As for the ovulation predictors... I haven't used them, but a good friend of mine has tried using them and has had zero luck. I told her a lot about many of y'all and she read through a lot of Taking Charge... she had no idea what was out there and her doc was just going to flat out start her on Clomid without testinng. So she has been charting and looking at when she O's... turns out she did at one point but the OPK didn't catch it. She's all excited about TTC again even though after a year nothing happened.
I had no idea she was TTC either. She knew I was pregnant and I told her I miscarried. Next thing you know we are talking about all the issues we have dealt with. Like Rebecca's post stated, we have this bond that no one else but those TTC can understand.

Michelle, how cool that you got to see a few old roomies! I am so jealous of the one who does Disney weddings! We'll see if I make it back to F&WF. Obviously right now it is too far away to plan. We just went for it last year and loved it. We'll see how lucky we get.

I'm super tired today... nothing like cats pawing all over you because they are cold to keep you up at night :p

Hi all! Just stopping in to say hello. There's not much happening here - I'm still in the pre-O waiting zone. I usually O around CD24, so I don't start using OPK's until CD 18. It's CD 12, so still a bit before the cycle gets interesting! ;)

Sounds like I might get a trip to Disneyland in this spring with some friends, and DH and I have decided on an Alaska Cruise for our big vacation of the year. Looks like we'll end up doing a Princess Cruise because they have more "exciting" food options and culinary classes for DH (the food snob:rolleyes: ). My MIL is horribly distraught that we aren't going with Cruise West or one of the other small ship cruises. I pointed out to her that Cruise West starts at $3,700 per person, while we can get a balcony stateroom on Princess for $1,600 per person. Much more in our price range! She's not convinced - thinks we should break into the emergency savings to go the small ship route. I'm glad DH and I agree on this one: Vacation fund is for the vacation, Emergency fund is for emergencies! Since DH was just laid off last Aug and out of work for 2 months, we have a much greater appreciation for the emergency fund.

Anyway, I turned 35 on Sunday, and DH gave me a birthday card that he'd written in it: "Sorry you hit 35 without getting knocked up yet." :lmao: I totally started laughing, and he said "well, you always told me you wanted to have your first child before you were 35. Sorry we didn't achieve that goal. Guess we should have started working on it earlier, but I figured we'd just start 9 months before your 35th birthday and we'd be on target!" I think he's finally starting to understand that you don't just stop taking BC and automatically get a BFP that month!

:bday: Love what your DH wrote :lmao:

Well...good news and bad news...

Good News: we got above freezing today

Bad News: I'm pretty sure AF is on her way. I'm getting that wonderful yellow CM (TMI...sorry) I get before she rears her ugly head. :sad2:

I knew I forgot something... Amber, good luck with all the testing!

Happy Birthday to you Imarried! I laughed so hard at what your DH put in the card, you made me snort ;)
Have fun planning those trips! Both sound like they will be a blast :)

Well, DH finally asked if there's something he's supposed to be doing (other than BD ;) ) to help us get the BFP. Sounds like he's wondering what the hold up is! I told him (again) that I only O once every 32-38 days (varies every month - ugh!), and we've only got a few days to "hit the target". He's slowly getting it...I guess after all those years of being told "fool around once and that's all it takes to get a girl pregnant" it's kind of hard to wrap his mind around the idea that it isn't always like that.

So I did tell him that staying healthy and taking a multivitamin would help, and of course if he'd work on losing the weight his Dr. has been telling him he needs to loose for the last, oh, 10 years, it would help, too. We'll see...he's made a plan to get more exercise, but he's a boy who likes his yummies and it's hard for him to change his foodie habits. He LOVES going to ethnic restaurants and cooking ethnic food, but he's not so good at thinking about if it's low fat, low carb, low cal, etc. He has type 2 diabetes, so he's supposed to be thinking about these things, but he's not really doing it.

Anyway...just thought I'd pop in and say hi and see how everyone's doing. Seems like forever until we get close to O day and can be more active in TTC. I've got one more week to go before I can use the OPK's and not be wasting them.

Well...Cycle 10 is over and out :sad1: I started spotting today. I'm bound and determined not to cry this time because I'm tired of crying.

It looks like I will have another full cycle before my OB appointment. I just wish I could go to the OB and find out what is wrong!!!!! I KNOW we BD'd on the right days and I swear that I ovulated out of both ovaries....I just don't understand!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm starting to wonder if my uterus is just to "tipped" during ovulation to let any swimmers in.

Guess I won't be buying that maternity swim suit afterall

pixiedust: to those of you who are "gearing up"

I'm so sorry Rebecca. :hugs:

Michelle..Wow! That's a lot of meds!! I can't even imagine!

Imarriedgrumpy: LOL! It's a good thing that your DH is at least asking. :) You know, I don't think I even realized how little the pregnancy window is before we started trying!

Nothing new here. Just on CD8. I usually don't O until CD20 so we have a ways to go. I did do some calculations to make sure DH wouldn't be out of town during my O time and looks like AF will be due on Valentine's day! That's also the day my DH will be leaving to go to his music educators conference in Texas. Looking forward to this year's valentine's day already.

so sorry Rebecca- so what is your OB appt for? are you going to ask about 'help'? maybe clomid, or did you already take that?

my ob/gyn was great when i knew i needed help. she ran all the tests, s/a, dye test, thyroid etc. and gave me clomid and monitored. it was great. of course then we all know my story and i have had to move on to bigger and better and more expensive things....lol

i start my lupron shots tonight. week 3 of BCP. i stop then on sunday. i've never had the lupron before, so i am in for a whole new round of side effects. i am excited about our orientation wednesday though, so DH can understand the IVF process more....blastocysts etc...lol

i finally did something this weekend and hit the gym yesterday. went again at 5am this morning with Dh too. he goes every morning before work. felt good. i won't be able to workout after the ER and ET, so i figured i should get it in now to drop a few lbs before i start bloating up again. great fun!

hope everyone is staying warm and has a good week!

Just wanted to pop in and say Hi!

exwdwcm
Holy cow that's a lot of meds!!! Good luck!:goodvibes

DisneyDreamer8
I'm so sorry.:goodvibes

I am finally coming to terms with our loss in Oct. and we named our son we lost Joseph Dominick. It has helped me with some closure. I did find out through the genetic testing there is nothing wrong with me or DH and there was nothing genetically wrong with the baby. It seems my placenta was torn and bleeding and seems to be the cause for the loss. So, we have been trying again since the end of Nov. We have a trip planned to WDW in April, actually we leave on what would've been our babies due date. Hopefully I will pregnant then.

Good luck to everyone!!!

Hey Michelle-Thanks for the support. I'm going to the OB to have more testing done. I've had the basic bloodwork (hormone levels, prolactin, etc.) and DH had his S/A. I would like her to so an HSG but we will see what she says. I was prescribed Clomid by my normal Dr. but I only took it one month. I am more than happy to take it again but I want to be monitored just to make sure that everything is working as it should and not being overstimulated. A friend of mine sees her and said that she is very aggressive about treating infertility so I think we will get alone great.

I hope that your first round of drugs goes well and you don't have to many side effects. :goodvibes

Skuttle-Thanks for the hugs. I'm doing ok today. AF still has not shown in full force so still waiting (seems like that is all you do while TTC). I hope you get a great Valentine's day gift...No AF!!! :wizard:

Well...hope everyone is having a great Monday!!!

I thought I would leave this website for you...she is a friend and I lost count of how many losses she had before finally giving birth...

Hi Michelle-

I hope your orientation goes well...I would be overwhelmed but I'm sure you will be well prepared. Is your DH going with you?

My appointment is Feb 16th. Then me and DH are going to his company awards banquet for the rest of the weekend.
