Hi all! Just stopping in to say hello. There's not much happening here - I'm still in the pre-O waiting zone. I usually O around CD24, so I don't start using OPK's until CD 18. It's CD 12, so still a bit before the cycle gets interesting!
Sounds like I might get a trip to
Disneyland in this spring with some friends, and DH and I have decided on an Alaska Cruise for our big vacation of the year. Looks like we'll end up doing a Princess Cruise because they have more "exciting" food options and culinary classes for DH (the food snob

). My MIL is horribly distraught that we aren't going with Cruise West or one of the other small ship cruises. I pointed out to her that Cruise West
starts at $3,700 per person, while we can get a balcony stateroom on Princess for $1,600 per person. Much more in our price range! She's not convinced - thinks we should break into the emergency savings to go the small ship route. I'm glad DH and I agree on this one: Vacation fund is for the vacation, Emergency fund is for emergencies! Since DH was just laid off last Aug and out of work for 2 months, we have a much greater appreciation for the emergency fund.
Anyway, I turned 35 on Sunday, and DH gave me a birthday card that he'd written in it: "Sorry you hit 35 without getting knocked up yet."

I totally started laughing, and he said "well, you always told me you wanted to have your first child before you were 35. Sorry we didn't achieve that goal. Guess we should have started working on it earlier, but I figured we'd just start 9 months before your 35th birthday and we'd be on target!" I think he's
finally starting to understand that you don't just stop taking BC and automatically get a BFP that month!
