i do all the time. did anyone see the episode of csi last night? why did the guy who got shot with the paintball gun die?

My DS used to paintball but got rid of all his stuff when he got his car. LOL! He had quite a bit of money tied up in that. I didn't realize how much it costs until he bought a $1500 gun! He actually sold it on Ebay to someone that lives in Scotland!

my sons used to paintball alot. They sold one of their guns and kept one that they share. They used to dump alot of money into it too.

My DS does. Have you ever gone to the World Cup at the Wide World of Sports complex. They have it in April and October each year. It is really something to see and if you want to buy anything connected to paintball they have a vendor there for it. My son loves to go. They really have some teams out there.

DS was going to join a team that would have played at WDW. But then his car came along and his priorities changed!

wow $1500 total ive spent like 500 on everything including paint.....

His had a custom gun. He also had nitro? tanks. I think they were called that. He used expensive paint too. I think because he was on a real competing team that they all used the expensive stuff.

nope, i am not on a team, it is too expensive and i am not agressive enough, i like to stay back and snipe, so i would not make a very good player on a team.

My husband is an avid paintballer and is on a tournament team. They won their first tournament back in August. We just got back from the PSP World Cup at Wide World of Sports (he did not play just went to watch). I play from time to time. He currently has 5 guns, he's keeping his first "high-end" gun as a keepsake because I gave it to him for Christmas a few years back(WGP black magic autococker). The 3 he uses for tournaments (all Bob Long Intimidators) were valued over $1200 each when we bought them, but he gets a discount from the local paintball store because he helps out at the field so we didn't pay that much for them. I really can't guess how much money we have tied up in paintball but it's a lot. Paintball is very expensive, especially on the tournament circuit, hopefully next season they will have some sponsors to help cut the costs. Both of our nephews play as well.

Adding picture of husband's team with their 1st place trophy- (my husband is the short one, standing 2nd from the left and right next to him in the black shirt is our oldest nephew)

We've been to the tournaments in October for the past 2 years. Wow, there are a lot of vendors! We bought so much stuff. Most everything we bought was a lot cheaper than what we would normally pay ordering on-line (ex. we got Empire pants for $30 versus $75 on-line!). Are the tournaments in April the same scale as October? Might have to make an April trip......

wow 2bigkidz, 3 of them? ha i have a almost stock tippmann 98 custom, the only thing i have changed is the barrel....

One of my ds is into it. He wants to be a ref on one of the outside fields, but right now he is going to a bowling coach seminar and training session. He has upgraded to a different gun, sorry I dont know what it is. His dream is also to go see the events at disney. He goes to an indoor place but its far away, the outdoor place is closer to home. Some places make you buy their paint and that really adds up. Its fun but expensive.

Yeah 3 (well we really have 5 guns total plus an old 2000 WGP autococker my husband got from a friend but he has stripped it so it's not in working condition right now). He bought his 1st timmy about a year ago (it's an Atomix Intimidator or A-bomb) and he quickly fell in love with it. Our nephew plays also but doesn't have a gun anymore so when I decided to play I bought myself an Alias Intimidator so he could use that in tournaments. We bought both of these from our local paintball store at cost. A few weeks after I bought my gun we see an A-bomb on e-bay for a little over $700 (mind you these guns were going for $1400 + at this point). We bid on it and won. When we first got it it did not work properly so we took it to the shop and it was something really simple, some part was put in upside down and it works and looks brand new now. It was such a good price we just had to try for it. My husband is constantly buying new parts and upgrading his guns, probably not an original part on any of the guns.

Do you play woods ball?

Our other nephew had a Tippman A-5 but we traded that for him and got him an Ion, which we have upgraded the trigger and it really rips. Sorry for so much info- I know much more about paintball than I ever wanted to know :cool1:

My husband doesn't have to pay field fees or for air and he gets paint at cost (case of x-ball silver for $33) so our costs have gone down a lot except when he plays in tourneys.
