My Dh has been in Kuwait for two weeks now, and I would really love to have a couple people who are in the same boat to talk to. I got my last phone call and e-mail from him until it's over, and I feel really alone.

Thanks,
Melanie

I'm sorry! I don't know how you feel but I want to send you
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} too.

Melanie, my DH is not deployed right now, but he is TDY and he has been the the Persian Gulf before so I know how you are feeling a little bit. It is a tense time for all, but moreso for those of you who have loved ones in the middle of all this. {{HUGS}} for you. Surround yourself with friends and loved ones, it is one of the best things you can do. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your DH.

Melanie,

DH is a retired submariner so I know what long deployments are like. It's the pits not knowing where they are.

Sending prayers to you and your family during this difficult time. Feel free to pm if you like.

Melanie,
I am not in your situation, but I am here for you! Thanks to your dh for protecting us. {{{{HUGS}}}} to you!
Feel free to pm me if you want to!

My husbands not in Kuwaitt but he did recieve orders two weeks ago that they will be in the next "rotation" for Afganistan in the fall. We were sitting around holding our breaths wondering when the call would come (he's civil affairs/special forces). Now we have a date and time and unlike alot of these fine heros who left their families with but a few days notice, at least we have time to prepare ourselfs and the children for daddy being gone (orders are for 24 months :( ) We went through a deployment to Bosnia when the kids were much younger (and just months after the death of our oldest son) but this time I'm even more worried about the kids, my son is going to be 13 this summer...to think that the next time he sees his dad he might be 15 is unimaginable to me!! But its my daughter I worry about most, she is going to be 8 soon and is so very emotionally fragile, she has this heart that is so tender...........
You and your family are in my prayers tonight....godsped your husband home. If you need someone to talk to you feel free to PM me.

Dear Melanie,

I don't often post but I lurk daily! My dh left today. He is a member of the Army National Guard. This is not the first time he has been deployed. His unit was called to active duty during Desert Storm and he was deployed to Kosovo from Oct. 2001-May 2002. I will keep you and your husband in my prayers. Feel free to e-mail me if you would like to chat.

My dh is no longer in the Marines so he is home with me but lacool's dh has been deployed. She posts alot on the DVC boards.

Mine is not deployed so I don't know exactly how you feel. But I sure can understand why you would be lonely. We are here if you need to talk. :)

Tell him "THANK YOU" for serving next time you talk or write.

Hi Melanie,

I don't have a husband there...but I do have a son. He's a Marine who's been stationed at Camp Coyote since early February...but as of today, he's been moved and all they're telling us is that it's to an undisclosed location. :(

If you need someone to talk to, I'm always here!! And let me tell you - this is the best bunch of friends you'll ever find.;)

My son is over in Kuwait. His wife, my DIL is classicpooh4. If you want to talk to either of us, fell free to PM anytime. My son has been there since December.

My DH isn't in Kuwait, but he was over there for the Gulf War, so I know how you feel. We are here for you.
{{{BIG HUGS}}} for you.

Thanks to everyone who has replied. This will be a tough few days for all of us that have loved ones over there. He is at Al Jaber, and I did just get an e-mail from him saying that they definately will not be able to call, but that he can still e-mail. For everyone who has someone over there, I will pray for them tonight. I am thankful that he will be at an airbase and not moving into Iraq.

Melanie

My prayers are with your husband, Melanie, and to all who are over in harm's way. My thanks and gratitude to you and the families on the home front. You are all such special people. {{Hugs}}

I can't imagine what you are going through, but want you to know that we care and I am sending lots of PD and a {{{HUG}}}

Spend lots of time here with us. It can be addicting and you won't even realize where time has gone. :)

Melanie, I know what you are going through, although my time of separation during war was back during Vietnam (a long time ago, but it's not something you forget). Its tough on the military personnel over there, but it's really hard on the families to hold down the home front while they're gone. Be strong in your faith and love, use your friends on the Dis for support, stay busy and hopefully our brave men and women will be home swiftly and safely. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Brenda

My DH is in the Gulf - he's been gone for nearly 10 weeks now aready.

I find the hardest part is keeping everything 'normal' for my two young DDs. I'm also not in service quarters so don't have anybody else around me who is going through anything similar.

Feel free to PM me if you want a chat or a cyber shoulder to cry on.
