Any other deals like Mimi's out there?

first time traveling to DL, we are going uber cheap and will be using the mimi's club for sure!! Are there any other good deals like this around?? We will also be going to Universal and San Diego during our trip, so if you know some awesome places it would be great!

Rainforest Cafe has a club that saves you 10% - but they aren't what I'd call cheap. I think AAA gets you the same discount.

In Universal - eat in Citywalk, not the park. If you want a cheap taste of LA try Tommy's Burgers there ( upstairs in a food area ) -- messy chili burgers. Very popular local chain - but really greasy spoon type food. There are other fast food chains there too. Universal does an '1 day food pass' kind of thing - much cheaper to buy on-line before you go. Specific for a couple of places in the park - and they tend to get longer lines because of it. Could be a good deal if you're big eaters and staying from morning till night. (at least it was available the last time I went - around the end of the year)

In San Diego there are lots of good , relatively cheap/authentic Mexican places in Old Town SD. I like the chunky carnitas from Old Town Mexican Cafe myself ( and I do mean chunky, not crunchy. chunky isn't always listed on the menu anymore but they always have it). An order for 2 can feed 3 easily.

Eating in DL is expensive. Often I get the Plaza Inn 3 piece chicken dinner (with mashed potatoes, veges, biscuit) and split it with my son - $14 or so, but better then 2 $9 burgers.

There were some coupons from the Anaheim Travel Bureau... something like that? Might be what PP mentioned....

Also Millie's has a club and you can get free meals too.

Try restaurant.com - there may be some restaurants in the areas you will be visiting - and you can buy a $25 gift certificate for cheap... also check couponmom.com for codes, sometimes you can get a $25 certificate for $2.

Other posters have reported that it's only good for 2 weeks, some have received it (via email) right away, others have taken a couple of days.
