I'm not following Atkins, but the Curves diet, which is VERY similar to Atkins. But, I'm finding that Atkins people have some REALLY GOOD low carb tips, that I'm not aware of because I'm not doing Atkins. Can you share anymore with me??? I know about 2 now- those wonderfully delightful carbolite bars :D and diet rite soda instead of any other diet soda because they use splenda. What other tips have you found that have helped you out on your Atkins journey?? Like- times to eat or excercise, foods to stay away from, even if they are legal on Atkins and so on. How long did it take you to go into ketosis and how much on average do you lose per week? OR anything else you have to say about it.

Kim, you are always so helpful with that link. It's a really helpful website, too.

It took me 4 days to get into ketosis, karebear.

Average weight loss? Haven't figured it out. I didn't lose any poundage in February and I've lost 32 pounds so far since January so it would probably figure out to an average loss of 2 pounds or so a week. But my first 3 weeks on Atkins I lost 18 pounds, you can believe me when I say that my loss during the first 3 weeks hooked me on Atkins for sure ;)

I like to weigh up 1 ounce baggies of almonds, macadamia nuts and sunflower seeds, which are all low carbohydrate treats. That way I have them ready when I need a treat and I know that I'm not eating more than I'm allowed.

weighing up the macadamia' and others nuts is areally good idea- it's just too easy to take handful anfter handful. DO you lilmit yourself to just 1 ounce a day??

Sometimes I eat two ounces. I depends on my stress level. Usually I stick with the one ounce. The macadamia nuts are really filling because they are high in fat.

Macadamia's are my favorites. Have you ever tried melting the carbolite chocolate bars and mixing it with the macadamias??? Hmmmmm- I wonder if Kelsie has tried that one yet?!?!? :p

I looked in the market for the carbolite bars but they don't carry them! I bought Atkins Advantage bar instead. Now,why does the package say: 17 g's of carbos but on the front of the package it says 2grams of carbos?? And does anyone know how these taste?

I really like the Atkins Advantage bars - but I do find that if I eat more than 1 a day, I stall. I try to stick to eating 1/2 a bar at a time, instead of a whole one.

The bars are sweetened with sugar alcohols, which Dr. Atkins says don't have an impact on your weight loss. So, the net carbs are only 2, even though the total carbs are 17.

I don't have one in front of me, but if there are fiber grams, then you also subtract them from the total carbs.

Air head- they have the carbolite bars at Walgreens and I believe I read a thread a couple of days ago that said you could buy them online- AND now that I think of it someone said they found them at SAm's Club as well.
