I am looking for if it was clean, close to WDW, nice place to stay but at this point I want to ILLIMINATE the BAD ones so if there is a place here that you thought was really bad, please tell me so I can narrow it down...

If you had a bad experience at any of these or if it takes more than 45 minutes to get to the on ramp to WDW (i'm not saying to the park) please let me know.

Thanks for any and all help.

Stayed at Westgate Lakes in Oct 02. It was alright. Its located close to US/IOA, so if your going to visit there then this might be a good choice. The rooms were clean, but not fascinating. If you can get a good deal (less than $100 a night) it might be worth it. We have stayed at the Blue Tree Resort every other time we have gone. I prefer the Blue Tree due to its local and I think its a little nicer.

I can only comment on the Vistana Villages.

Excellent place. Immaculately clean villas, luxurious decor, beautiful landscaping, roomy...less than 10 minutes to the WDW gates. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in a 2br villa at Summer Bay in March and thought it was excellent! It was spotless! Everything still looked brand new.

We won the week through skyauction and got a villa right by the new kids interacive pool! That thing is awesome!! My kids wanted to leave the parks and stay in the pool all day!

The drive to disney was not bad at all either.

hth!

I love the short 5 minute drive from Silver Lake to AK. Floors are tile and mirrors are everywhere, so units are not as nicely decorated as some. Maintenance standards are high.

Fairfield is further away (10-15 minutes) but two bedroom units are very comfortable. Carpet was stained but unit was very clean.

Summer Bay is too far down 192 (I hate driving). We had roaches in our kitchen. Can't recommend the older units.

I'm choosing Cypress Pointe Grand Villas next since the living room furniture is due to be replaced soon. I like the location near Pleasure Island, many good off site restaurants and Winn Dixie. Turkey Lake Rd. runs from near the condo to the back entrance of Universal.

I would choose Vistana Villages in a heartbeat (but 2 bedrooms are hard to get) and would consider Vacation Village at the Parkway.

I eliminated Grand Lake and Sevilla after drive bys and Westgate and Bryan's Spanish Cove after reading bad reviews.

Check Tripadvisor.com for reviews of many of these properties.

Be careful of one bedroom units. They can be small lockoffs at many different properties. Do a search for floor plans so you know how much space you will end up with.

I have stayed at Club Sevilla and it may not look like much by a drive by. You get a great place, if I can get my husband to post the pictures you would see how great.
The housekeeping service made towel animals better than the disney resorts.
The pool is huge. I have stayed there 3 times. I like it very much.
The drive to Disney is better now than it was years ago. There is a short cut past the Publix I think.

Silver Lake is pretty good, and very close to WDW grounds. We liked Cypress Point Greand Vills, also close to DownTown Disney.

I second trying tripadvisor.com

Haven't heard much good about Westgate, they are close to Disney, but have a tour everyone complains about.

Silver Lake also has a tour that you are charged for, that I didn't appreciate.

Tahnsk for the info so far...Please keep it up...My DH wants to narrow it down to 5 places soon.

We wish we could stay at Orange Lake again but it's not available this time.

You want "...clean, close to WDW, nice place to stay..." So these would be my top picks from your list:

1. Sheraton Vistana Villages (new, romantic, beautiful) - near S. Int'l Drive area, south of Sea World, about 15 min drive to WDW.

2. Silver Lake Resort (clean, well-maintained, nice pool & amenities) - backs up to Animal Kingdom, 5 min drive

3. Sunterra Resorts Cypress Pointe - either one (close by, lovely pools, recently renovated) - Lake Buena Vista area, 5 min drive to Downtown Disney area

4. Fairfield Orlando at Cypress Palms (newer, pleasant amenities, quiet) - Kissimmee, a block off Rte 192 east of WDW, 10-15 min drive to WDW

5. Vacation Village Parkway (clean, comfortable) - Kissimmee, 5 min from jct of 192 and World Drive (WDW maingate road)

Summer Bay Resort & Sunterra Resorts Grand Beach are probably "also ran" choices for me because there are many positive trip reports for each, though they have an occasional negative report. The others you listed seem to have mixed reviews by those who have a lot of timeshare experience trading to various resorts.
HTH. :)

Silver Lake and Summer Bay were very nice and very
close to Disney.
We got Silver Lake again for early August.
Bryan's Spanish Cove is alright, didn't think it was
anything special.
Heard mixed reports on Club Sevilla.

Anyone ever stay at Sunterra Resorts Cypress Pointe or

Sunterra Resorts Cypress Pointe Grandvillas?

Anyone else care to share...

Sheration V V is great I will be going on my fourth vaction there. Westgate has not as far as I can tell (in the last year I have been reading the boards) ever gotten a glowing review and there is no way I would go there. We actually got an offer from them for a dirt cheap price and thanks to the info I gathered I was not even tempted.
I do not know all that much about Sunterra. If they are the ones that run Liki Tiki then cross them off the list too. Sorry I do not have many other experiences since we stay at V V so much.

Vistana Villages is the only one I have stayed at so far. It was great. Very clean, very pretty, not a bad drive. Nice pool area, but no water slide. That keeps my kids from wanting to go back.

Vistana Village is pretty and very nice but one thing we didn't like was the long walk to the pool. WE were on the far side a few years ago and the walk to the pool seemed even longer after a day at the park. My teens even didn't want to walk. We were on the side where you have to cross the wooden bridge to get to the pool. Just a thought.
