I am considering getting a Medline wheelchair. The woman told me they are have only been out a few months. The one I am considering is very light weight, the push handles are adjustable as are the footrests, the arms swing up, there are other benefits also, but I don't want to get a chair that is not durable.
So, does anyone have one of these Medline manuel chairs? Your thoughts?

My expertise is in custom wheelchairs.
Medline makes a lot of standard wheelchairs that don’t have a lot of adjustability or custom features. Pretty much the kind you find for general use in hospitals and nursing homes. I know a lot of products we use in the hospital are made by Medline and would not be surprised if we have some Medline wheelchairs.
If you do a search for Medline on Amazon.com , you will see that they do have some listed with quite a few ratings and generally good ones. Overall, when I did a google search for “Medline wheelchair review” Medline had good reviews.

that weighs 14-1/2 pounds: it's called a Freedom Ultralight. We've had it for over two years, now. I think it's a good value for what you pay. Mind you we don't use this wheelchair everyday. It's probably used about 60 days of a year's time.

Recently, I wanted to order spare wheels for this wheelchair. The threads are starting to disappear on them. They will wear out; so, I just wanted to be prepared. I wanted to get the same ones that come with the wheelchair. To my surprise it costs just about as much getting 4 wheels from Medline as getting a new wheelchair; believe it or not. Now, I'll just wait until I need a wheel and I will buy only one at a time. If all the wheels go bad at the same time (worn) I just may buy a new wheelchair.

I may have my local medical supply store change all the wheels with a different kind that may be cheaper when the time comes for it. If it's not cheaper or they can't get an equivalent, I may end up buying a new wheelchair.

Replacement parts are an expensive issue for any wheelchair.
For an expensive wheelchair (like DD’s which was about $7000), it doesn’t feel so bad to pay $100 for tires.
But, the price may make more sense to buy a new chair.

The ‘problem’ with replacement parts is that they don’t sell that many, so there is not high demand for them.
