Any Opinion between Nov 1-10 or Nov 10-18?

Debating on which week in November to plan our vacation for. We have been to MNSSHP last year and we do not want to go this year. We were also there for the Food and Wine last year and that is not a must for us.

Really we are looking for the quietest time and or least expensive. Also how long is the Food and Wine festival. Will it still be going on November 10-18? I know it was going on during our last trip of October 29-November 9th. Any opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'm booking the 10th through the 17th this Thursday. Food and Wine ends on the 10th I'm hoping to get an early flight so we can go to Epcot in the afternoon/evening. Also I believe that MVMCP will also be going on that week. I've heard it's a great week. The week before is Jersey Week and the crowds are a little heavier then so I think this is going to be a great week. Can't wait.:cool1:

I really enjoy the second week. The crowds are relatively quiet, and the Christmas decorations start showing up in the parks and at the resorts.

We'll be there from the 8th-16th so we can catch the last weekend of the Food and Wine Festival.

We were there the 1-11 two years ago, and I believe it was NJ fall break at the same time? I could be mistaken, because I know that the Hurricane hit just before we left, and several families we spoke to said that they were DVC members and when they realized they would be without power, etc. they just headed to Disney. But it was a lot more crowded than we expected it to be over that week!

We were there last year from October 29th -November 9th. We did not find it to be too crazy with crowds. It was Jersey Week but it was fine.

We were thinking of doing more your dates this year. 9-18 It is not a huge difference but sometimes just a day or two can make a huge difference if there is something going on. So I just didn't know if November 9-18 would be the same as 1-9 or if it would quieter because food and Wine is ending?

Or if there is something I do not know about that would make it worse that second week? (my daughter chooses the banana I know it does not make a ton of sense :)

I think the Wine and Dine half marathon is Nov 7-8. Crowds can be huge around the Disney race events.

Of all the times that our family has gone, our favorite was around Nov 12th. Weather was perfect - not too hot but can still swim - plus the crowds weren't bad. It's been a couple of years, but I think it helped to go after the Food Festival and before Thanksgiving holiday to avoid high crowds.

We went Nov 15-19 last year and it wasn't bad, but it wasn't as dead as I was hoping :) Still a great time to go and I'd do it again.

It's never as empty as we used to catch it during the off season when our older kids were little…. I think those days are over.

And FD is expected to be for nov 9-20 if that is of any interest to you and could also impact crowds,it officially has not been released yet but those are the projected dates as some have posted.

Thanks. :) I had that in mind. I will definitely arrive one of the days that FD is offered. I guess that will impact the crowds.

When we went for MNSSHP it was nice because we saw the halloween and then the Christmas a few days later. We stayed until 9th so we could see the osbourne lights. We can do without the Halloween this year. My daughter missed not being able to trick or treat at home even though it was fun.

This way she gets to trick or treat at home and then take off to Disney a few days later or the very next day. Just trying to figure out if I am missing anything big that may happen one of these weeks that I should try to avoid. I am not as up with my Disney Dates as some more knowledgeable Disney goers.

The crowd levels from October 29-November 9th were acceptable and we had a GREAT time just want to push our trip back two weeks. But not at the expense of much bigger crowds or something else. :)

I went that week last year. Just a heads up, lines were long at F & W and a lot of the booths were running out of food choices by the evening of the last night. Crowds were not bad the rest of the week.

I'm sorry....but what's FD mean? I get the F & W....but FD?
Thanks!

Free dining. Pay full price for a room and at least a 2 day ticket and you will get the dining plan added for free. Quick service for value resorts, regular dining plan for others.

OOOOHHH! We've never done a dining plan. For those who do Free Dining, does it have a MAJOR effect on crowds? I'm hoping there will be a room discount coming out around August 1 for this November time frame, at least that's what the CM told me when I made my current reservations. So if you book a room with a discount, you can't do Free Dining? So isn't it kind of a wash? Pay full for room, eat for free or get a discounted room rate and pay OOP? We're grazers so dining plans just don't make sense but a room discount means we can graze more:). Thanks for the info!

That's exactly right, if you wanted the free dining, you would be paying full price for your room. So we usually do the math (we are eligible for the military discount, so we get a good room discount) and decide which we would rather pay for. We get the meal plan when staying on property just to reduce how much we are paying out of pocket when actually on vacation!

Ok this is what happened to me last year. Take it for what it is worth. I received a Free Dining Pin with a large group of dates from September through end of December with some dates blocked out. You could easily get FD during the blocked out times because as long as you book to arrive one of the days in the free ding offer you were good.

So I booked for October 29 -November 9th using my free dining PIN. We stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. About 4 weeks after booking Sometime in June I received a % off the room deal PIN in the mail. I took the PIN called to price out the exact same vacation (I also did it on my own online) and the % off the room which was supposed to be I think 30% was only 200.00 Total cheaper than the Free dining offer! That is right...so it was a no brainer. There was no way the 3 of us were going to eat for 11 days for $200.00

So when you get a PIN the prices are usually not broken down and I must have had deal on the room or tickets too that was factored in. I ran the numbers every which way. IF we had a larger family the savings would be been better with the FD. I do not know what to say that was the way it was. Our room was also a garden view included which they ended up upgrading us as well. I am hoping for that PIN again! :worship:

I also wonder how customized those PINS are. Does a free dining PIN differ from person to person? They are all individual numbers attached to a particular address. We had not been every year kind of people. We had went 2 years before this past November trip, but before that had not been for several years. Now that we have my daughter we will be every year or two. Perhaps they customize to draw people in?:scratchin
