Hi ,We are looking at staying for 3 weeks in a Two bedroom in SSR.We would like to know which area to stay in and would like a great view. Can anyone give us room numbers and opinions please. Thanks in advance

I'm looking for some information, too. I'm a little confused..from what I've read, it seems like one section is much closer to DTD and the other section is close to the buses? This is our first trip to Disney and we're getting a 2 bedroom villa with my mom, my husband and our 3 kids (ages 7, 3 and 3) We're going to for one week and plan on spending some time at the pool, but it's probably more important to get a room that's close to the bus stop.

We stayed in a 2br at SSR in Oct 2006. We were located in the Paddock and had a nice view of the water...sorry I don't know the room #. If you want a view of DTD, then you should request the Congress area w/ a DTD view. The Grandstand area wasn't finished on our last trip to SSR, but I believe this is the better bus location...first pick up I think, so you wouldn't have to stand on the buses if it is crowded. I hope someone can help you w/ room numbers.

We stayed in a 2 bdrm in Congress Park in December of 2005. A lot of the resort was still under construction at that point. We were on the 3rd floor w/ a view of DTD. I'm sorry, I don't remember the room number. If we were to stay at SSR again, this is the area I would request. There was a lovely quiet pool close by that also overlooked the water to DTD. It would be a little walk to the main pool area, but, like everything, there are trade offs. The walk to DTD from here is convenient. Good luck. :cool2:

We stayed in Congress park...sorry don't remember the room number...
but it was the 1st building over the bridge.
I had a corner room.....great view of DTD....I loved it.

We stayed in the springs. 1400 building, I think. It was closest to the main area. Close to our bus stop, main pool, food, community hall, spa and boat to DTD. Loved it. Our view was a courtyard, very nice not spectactular.

There is one bus stop for each area, so none are super far away from any building.

Good luck, Marriedmyprince

Here is a random question - the answer to which would make a huge difference in whether or not we ever took our parents to SSR - are there elevators in the individual building or just stairs?

Also, which building is closest to the restaurants and spa?

Thanks!

We stayed in a 2-bedroom at SSR this past November. We were on the 2nd floor (I can't recall the room # but I think it was 2500 something). And we were at Congress Park.

This was our view:

To answer someone's question about elevators...yes there are elevators.

Congress Park is closest to DTD - a short walk. It's also a little more than a short walk to the main bldg where you can catch the boat over to DTD; and the restaurant is also that way and also the main pool. There are pools at the different sections too. No slides (at least none at Congress Park) that I know of.

All of the buildings have elevators.....or you could request the first floor as well. There are 2 sections that are close to the Carriage House, main pool, spa and restaurants. The Springs is the closest - it is right across the street. The Springs has the pond/water spout view for some villas. The Grandstand section is close as well....we stayed in a 2 BR in the building closest to the Carriage House and it was a 5 minute walk, if that. Some Grandstand villas have a view of the golf course. One reason why we loved the Grandstand was that it was the first bus stop for Disney transportation, the Springs is the last stop (a big deal if you don't have a car!)

In general, I would say that if...

...you want to walk to DTD Marketplace or PI, You want Congress Park.

...you want to be able to walk to DTD West Side or the new pool/water play area or the golf course, you want Grandstand.

...you want to be close to the main pool, restaurants, and spa, you want The Springs.

...you want a quieter stay, you want the Paddock.

...you want a REAL quieter stay, and perhaps don't plan on walking anywhere, you want Carousel.

These all depend on how much you want to walk. You can get anywhere from anywhere regardless, its a matter of distance.

We stayed in a 2BR in the Paddock the first week of December 2007 (although we had asked for Grandstand or The Springs). I actually really enjoyed the walking, despite the fact that I easily get blisters on my feet.

The buses, at least in certain circumstances, were frequent, although I don't believe that all of them stop at every location.
