looking for feedback if you own a Janome Memory Craft 8900 QCP.
I currently own a Janome memory Craft 10001 that is having issues with the computer on the embroidery side- it is not recognizing that the pressure foot is in the down position. I can't embroider with it. I can do regular sewing with it. I have had it for almost 11 yrs and it was a floor model before I purchased it. it is currently at the shop to see how much to repair it. The motor for the automatic needle threader broke a few years ago and I wan't footing a $400 repair to replace the motor.
I mainly use the embroidery for quilt label. I don't really do anything else with it like I thought I would. I have made a few things in the past with the embroidery but not much.
I was window shopping while dropping off the machine for repairs and found the MC8900. I LOVE the large space to the right of the needle. I mainly quilt and sew clothing and crafts.
I know it has 3 alphabets programmed in it. Can anyone tell me if the alphabets are just chain stitched or what the look like when you stitch them? I have looked on line and can't find much of a picture to see how it comes out.
The shop also suggested just getting an embroidery only machine- brother PE770. they have one used. Just not sure I want to go that route. I have been a Janome girl for a really long time. Though the only think that peaked my interest with the brother was that i could down load disney designs to it and have fun. Which has its possibilities
I found a dealer in the next state that has a better price for the MC8900 than where my machine is at right now.
any input or suggestions??
