Any one on 7-29-06 / 7 Night Western!!!! Is Back

Marci - We got hit with about a foot of snow here. It was terrible trying to drive to work. I prayed all the way there and back. It took Danny 2 hours to snow blow the drive so we could get the cars back in the garage. I felt sorry for any one fling out of are airports. As of Friday they cancelled all (90%) of flights coming and going. My boss was supposed to leave last night and his was cancelled. I flet soory for him. He was leving to go see his grandson and take him for pictures for Santa. They rescheduled him fo this morning but they were not sure.

Tif - How much snow did you get down there?

Marci are you going to WDW for the holidays?

Jen - When do you leave for WDW?

Now that ere have DVC I told Danny one of there years we will have to go down there for the holidays.

Well eveyone have a great weekend! I don't think I am going out of the house. I am so tired. It has been very very busy at work. I have been putting in at least 10 hour days. My eyes are killing me for looking at so many numbers. Eveyone wants there order out for the holidays. I guess working for a billiareds (pool Tables, ext) is what people want.

Andrew, :bday: have fun at the party:

party: HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDREW!!!! party:

Hope you enjoy your day!

Helen...the thing with the teeth on the sig is actually a naked mole rat, from Disney's Kim Possible. It is kind of weird, but actually becomes endearing after seeing a couple of episodes. But I could understand the confusion. Congrats on the news. It has to be a bit daunting...but remember...Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust! We will be sending it in force when you let us know the scheduled time!

Pardon my ignorance, but what is the WPASADI?

Jen, sorry about the cold snap in Hawaii...but it sounds heavenly to me! Alec came in yesterday after shoveling for about 45 minutes sobbing. He couldn't feel his feet. At that moment Tom asked him if he was sure he didn't want to move to Florida full time. :goodvibes With tears in his eyes...he said it would be OK. He is our child that has asked to go to the school Abby is at for high school...he has asked that forever!
It took shifts of about half an hour for Tom and the kids shoveling till about 5pm to get our driveway cleared enough for one car. The plows came by mid-morning today. All basketball games were cancelled here. Abby's practices were cancelled. The snow day was awesome though! The kids created a bobsled run from near the front door, to down and around the side of the house...it was awesome!!!! Getting bunches done around the house though!

Well...all...HAPPY SNOW DAYS! All those warmth bound...my heart wishes we were with you!

All this talk of snow and taking hours to get the car out... I've never experienced, can only imagine. This week was 70s all week, then yesterday and today 60s. Not too bad for December.

I still have TONS of shopping to do, but both the kids have asked for Video ipods, so there won't be much else from Santa.

Was reminded of the cruise yesterday as we were decorating our tree. We bought ornaments from Cocoa Beach, Key West, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. That's one of our family traditions - an ornament from every place we visit. It's a great reminder as we hang each one.

Helen - is Dave home?

Valerie - How's your back?

Today was day two of Snow Days! Guess what...tomorrow is DAY 3!!!!!!!!! All three kids are elated. Well, Alec is frustrated...he's our youngest...he realizes it means a longer school year!

Our roads are AWFUL!!!! It is frightening how bad they are...Saw plows out today...but the plows were not down! Not understanding. Well, I will check in with y'all tomorrow! Till then, snuggle in!

Tif, I agree with Alec that means longer school. The kids in this area were off Friday but they went back today. But I am sure your area is more rual. Evne by Steven In Wisconsin they calloed the other two colleges and not his. The kids at school were not happy. I can not believe how cold it is. That is the bad thing. Everything is turning to ice and that is scary. As I am writting this it is 21 with a wind chill of 7.

Take care everyone.

Hi Everyone!
My back is doing much better! Thanks for the back info Helen. I think that surgery is your answer. It will be great!

Speaking of surgery, I went with my mom to this seminar with a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon. She has all this extra skin hanging down so she is probably going to get a tummy tuck and who knows what else. It's like a dream come true for her. Too bad she had to go through the awful radiation to lose the weight.

We went to Disneyland on Sunday! It's so beautiful. When we drove in the parking lot they had a construction sign flashing that said "Theme Park Very Busy". We laughed so hard. It seemed like such a funny thing. We knew we were in for crowds but we just wanted to see the decorations. It happened to be the annual Candlelight ceremony so that explained it.
But it turned out to be perfect. We didn't get there until 1:00 but we walked right in, hopped on the train and went right to the Haunted Mansion (decorated with Nightmare Before Christmas). We did other things and then it was so perfect - we went on Casey Jr. Train and it was a short line (unheard of) and while we were on we saw the Christmas parade and the toy soldiers. Dan used to play his trumpet and be one of them! And I used to work at Hungry Bear Restaurant and so every night I would meet him in the back and we would hang out (we were dating then). It was so neat to show the boys. Then we got off the train and we tried to catch up to them. We did by getting in the Small World ride (unbelievably short line because of the parade) and walked right next to the toy soldiers! We walked right on SW - you know it's called I think A Small World Christmas and they change the music. The inside is completely transformed into the holidays. It is a sight to see! The rest of the day was great. Thanks for letting me share!

I just turned in my paper and only have one final left! Yeah! I'm still working on getting you my holiday CD.

Thinking of you in the snow........ BRRRRRR! Can't imagine having a snow day!

Valerie

Valerie...I got teary reading your descriptions of Disneyland! Thank you so much for sharing!!! This is the hardest year for me. From 1994 to last year we spent either Thanksgiving or a part of December and Christmas at Disney. I miss it terribly.

Well...the kids went back yesterday. All of us were grateful for it! We typically don't ever have snow days. They recently got rid of the experienced drivers and planners for snow removal...and we have truly paid the price. Yesterday still felt like we were on the Belgian Blocks at EPCOT!!! Well, I need to get going!
Love to you all! Jen and Marci---have the best time on your Florida/Disney sojourn!

Hello to All!

We leave for WDW in 1 week and can't wait! But....we still need to finish up some holiday shopping so stressing a bit....but its all good.....love christmas!

Tif/Flo...my kids would love the idea of no school and playing in the snow. But I can also imagine how such bad weather can be a bit scary too.

Gotta go and take Jackie to preschool.

Hello everyone - I hope all is well with you and yours (all my dis friends and family). We put up our tree last night and I found so many of the ornaments that I bought with the kids from our trip this summer. Its a family tradition to buy an ornament from wherever we go and the kids wanted to hear the stories from some of the ornaments. The one they like the best is from a truck stop in Illionois when we were moving to NJ. We were driving from Montana where we used to live and dh had the Uhaul. I had the kids, the dogs, 3 cats and the minivan. The kids and I got stuck in the middle of a closed down highway as we were on the overpass on ramp. We couldn't go anywhere for over 10 hours. I was out of diapers, money, gas, and patience in 40 degree weather when a truck stop owner came around and helped all the stranded people and gave the ornaments to the kids. I don;t know why I'm telling you that story - but I guess its the time of year when I think about time gone by and the new friends I've made this year and how life takes you to places you never meant to be. Have a blessed day everyone.

Even though Mom seemed to be making small steps of progress, the doctors have determined that they won't be able to wean her. :sad2: We had a family meeting with them yesterday and have decided to turn off her ventilator. She has a medical directive saying she wouldn't want it, and she has mouthed to us to turn it off. She is barely responsive any more and really only cries and shakes. We are letting friends and family come in to town to say goodbye, and will probably turn the vent off on Sunday. I know it's the right decision, but my heart is breaking.

I want to thank you all for your support the last five months. It has meant a great deal to me to have a sounding board.

Marci

Marci,
No words could express how I feel for you. I know that is one of the hardest things to do. We had to do that for my dad. You know it is the best thing but it still hurts. I got goose bumps just reading it. As always are thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. :grouphug: We are here for you.
Flo

Hi guys. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Mom passed away and is with God now. It was what needed to happen, as she had chronic COPD and wouldn't have ever come off of the ventilator.

I really do appreciate all the support and concern you've shown me and my family.

Marci

I am so sorry Marci.
Thanks for letting us know. You will still be in my thoughts and prayers while you go through this hard time.

Hi Lisa, (not sure whether you got my email as it keeps getting returned to me?)

Ive just got in from school and was getting ready for college (my spanish class). I am really nervous as it is our presentations today. Well Dave shouted downstairs - You've got a parcel.

I went into the living room and Im suprised you didn't hear me squeal with delight in the usa. Thankyou so much for the peanut butter. :goodvibes I've had 2 slices of toast with it on for my tea. It reminded me of my holiday and totally de-stressed me.

I now feel confident to go to college and try my presentation.

Thanks again

Helen xx

Marci - my thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. I'm so very sorry for the passing of your mother. Peace be with you

Lisa
