I have a Roper dryer. It is only 9 months old and already not working. Here is my problem it seem to get hot and heating but not drying clothes. I cleaned the lint tray after every dry. The door to the dryer has water on it when i open it as well as the lint tray door which i never noticed before. i gues it would be condensation. So before i spend millions of dollars is there anything I can do to fix it or anyone have this problem before and know what it will cost to fix it?? I have to dig into my disney money to fix and I don't want to do that.

Is it possible that the dryer vent of hose to the vent is clogged with lint? Also is the hose kinked at all behind the dryer? Maybe someone could pull it away from the wall so you could check it.

How doi find the vent hose to check? thats possible another thing I forget to mention is there is always wet lint on the door aswell. I don't think I have an outside hose i think its built into the machine.

If the dryer is only 9 months old it's probably still under some sort of warranty - either through the store where you purchased it or the manufacturer themselves.. I'd check into that and make a few calls.. No sense paying for a repair if it's still under warranty.

Best of luck! It's no fun having a broken dryer - I know because I have one! LOL

The hose connects the dryer to the vent on the outside of your home. It releases the extra heat and humidity created in the dryer and allows air in to aid in drying. One year DH vented the dryer inside to give more heat to out laundry room, you would not have believed the amount of humidity it created.

A friend of mine had a kink in her dryer hose once. Her DH pulled it away from the wall a bit, now no more problems. Sometimes animals nest in the vent because it is warm, and end up blocking the air flow.

I agree with C.Ann, call for warranty repair. But check the hose first, it may be as easy as disconnecting that hose, cleaning it out, cleaning out the vent to the outside, and replacing the hose. Your DH can probably figure it out.

Good luck!

We had something like this happen to us and we put a different hose on the back. The one that comes with most dryers are not the best kind to get. Also the vent that is on the outside of the house had a crack in the cover so everytime it rained water would get in there. DH used a wetvac to suction out all the water. No problems at all sinc ethen. Before that we had to run the clothes through the dry cyle about 3 or 4 times to get the clothes dry.
