Any one here turn your iphone into a universal remote??

My harmony just took a dump, well my little girl took a toenail clipper and clipped off the buttons. So I was looking around and saw some iphone adapters to turn the phone into a remote, any thoughts.. Thanks.

There is NO REPLACEMENT for a Harmony. The software, interface, customability, etc. I wouldn't ever imagine using my phone to control my home theatre. Also, what happens if you're not home (with your phone) and someone wants to use the TV?

Harmony is the name of a remote series by Logitech. There are many different models, but their claim to fame is how easy they are, the amount of customization you can do (all web-based set-up), the number of commands available, etc. We have two of them, the Harmony 880 (not made anymore - but was probably the best due to a nice feature for those with multi-disc changers that is not available anymore) and the 1100, we'll be buying one for the kitchen soon, probably the 650.

we use our iPhones/iPads/iPod touches as remotes for our Roku box, but not as universal remotes
