Any One From Massachusetts

Central MA (also) but I will say I love the CAPE!!! My family OR all my DGF's try to get to the Cape one weekend during the summer!! Stayed in a lovely B&B in Dennis in June called SCARGO MANOR!!! :goodvibes:

The cape is definately nice this time of year. Less people and the weather is still nice. I have never been to Scargo Manor but I have driven by it a thousand times. We live in Orleans but basically any town past the Bass River Bridge is nice.

I'd like to say good luck to the Patriots, but I'm not a big fan.

No we have not booked any flights yet. We are looking daily for deals but nothing has surfaced yet. Driving is always an option but dread it.

Jet blue seems to be really expensive. We may fly out of Providence, maybe even NY.

Congrats on almost 1000 posts

Thanks. I didn't realize I was so close to 1000. It is such a long drive. For me, it's only my son and I, so the savings on airfare over gas, is not worth it for me. I would imagine if you have a big family, and rates are so high, it's much more cost effective to drive. Hope some good deals come up.

Western Mass, far from the islands and the Cape, somewhere between Springfield and Brattleboro, VT in a little town called Bernardston (but not pronounced Ber-NARD-ston, it's BER-nardston). We lived in Northfield, just across the river, until 3 years ago. We've both been local pretty much all our lives.

I love the Cape though, but have not been in about 18 years.

Hi! I just registered - I'm from Harwich. We're taking our daughter for her first trip to Disney in April! We're so excited!

I just realized we may be flying at the same time, as we're going on April Vacation also! I'm waiting for Southwest fares to arrive - tried to install Ding but it's absolutely not working for me.

My family and I are from the Boston area--We've been to WDW a few times but always in the fall, usually October--and are thinking of going back in May--Can anyone give me some info about the weather, lines and wait times, crowds, etc??? Any info is greatly appreciated!! Thanks--GO PATS!!!!!
:) :)

mikamah, we're from Danvers, too ! I actually grew up in Beverly, but we have lived in Danvers for about 14 years. Small world, huh ? We just were at WDW Aug. 15-24. We're toying with the idea of going in Dec. '08 (kids don't know !), but don't want to go when it is most crowded AND nervous about taking them out of school ( 1 HS, 1 MS 6th grade) to go before. We've only been in the summer and would like to try something different. Good luck !! :thumbsup2

That's too funny. I grew up in beverly too, Ryal Side, (class of 82) and moved to Danvers almost 4 years ago. I have one son who just started school at Riverside. We went last december before he started school and it was wonderful. I figure I can pull him out for the next few years without a worry, but I'm sure it gets tough when they get older. Nice to "meet" you neighbor.

We are in Walpole. I do love the cape but only at this time of year. Grow up spending summers on the cape but now it is so busy we wait for the fall and go. I have learned to love it more than in the summer

How about "upper Cape'...Plymouth? We're going Sept. 2008:cool1: Trying to make the time go by faster!:hourglass

Helloooooo, fellow Plymouthean! Before they built the Canal, Plymouth was considered part of the Cape, and geographically, still is. Oh, and Go Pats!

I'm from West Wareham MA. Technically not on Cape Cod, but at one time Wareham was considered the gateway to Cape Cod (before all the highways were built) and still is to some. I also was Born and raised in Dracut, Ma.

mikamah, class of '71 here. My sister was class of''75 and brother '79. I did start coaching at BHS in '75 till '81 or '82. My DD goes to Highlands. :thumbsup2

Hello all, from Halifax Ma. small town next to Kingston,Pembroke and such. Driving is not bad at all. We drive every year in August. me in one car with three boys- DS in another with 2 boys 3 girls. Definatly cheaper than flying...plus we stay for the month so time is not an issue all though we do drive straight through. AS far as ding fares. I discoverd if you have Norton antivirus in your computer...ding doesnt work. I have to unistall it everyday than turn off Nortin and install it and than check for ding fares. a real pain but worth it if you get a good deal.

I'm on Cape Cod!

Mid-Cape area and no I did not take the Home Depot stuff.

Although I admit I'm thinking about re-doing my bedroom in shades of Golden Disney colors as I have all this Disney Memorabilia and my 3 DS' are getting too old to have it hanging out in their rooms. ...Some shelving, gold curtains, violet paint....yeah! maybe I am crazy!

They still love to go to WDW though. We rented points in April at AKV and will book air very soon!

:boat:
