Booked my FD this morning, the Disney rep was so nice, but I felt like such a Disboard nerd when booking my reservations giving her my CSR room requests: "Cabana 8a, Rancho 7b, Cabana 8b, 9a, Rancho 6b, and 6a in that order" I told her that is what the "People suggested." I felt like a was schizophrenic..hahaha..listening to voices in my head (the disboard people that is!!) Anyway just wondering if anyone else felt that way. Thanks to everyone for there great suggestions for CSR..our trip is booked and the kids are so excited!

Last year we did a Grand Gatherings with 27 people and I was named the Disney Travel Agent. My sister had to call me on her cell while she had Disney reservations on the land line, I pick up the phone to hear my sister saying "That's not what my sister told me. Let me check her info." The sad part was I was right and the reservation lady wasn't. The reservation lady kept asking her "How does your sister have all this information already." I said it's the DIS!!!! Now if I'd only had my family pay me for my services I could me going back this year!!! Enjoy you're vacation!

You do know that the requests for buildings you made doesn't even get acknowledged until you check in? You don't have to tell reservations your request, just tell the CM when checking in.

I hear ya. I try to feign interest and sometimes act like it's something new when the CM's try to pass along little "tips" and info. When we booked this year the CM suggested the barber shop on main street for DD. Obviously (being a good DISer:thumbsup2) I had already planned on this before I even planned on DD :rotfl: but I decided to let is slide and acted like she told me something new. She seemed excited to share it and I didn't want to burst her bubble:lmao:

I faxed CSR four days before arrival and got Cabana 8A. They acknowledged when I checked in that I had requested that. I would definitely do that! We had to wait a little longer to get our request, but totally worth it!

Yeah, I totally know what you mean!! I called Reservations yesterday to see if I could switch from ASSp to Pop (wasn't available), then to request a small fridge for dd's medicine, than to put in specific room requests. The CM was not really amused. I think I just got an odd CM though. When I asked to be transferred to dining reservations, he said he would just do it. Then when I was going through the details of what I was looking for, he says so that's for 3 adults and one child? I replied, actually it's for 2 adults and 1 child. Then he told me yeah, that's what I said. I felt like saying: Oh sorry, I was just plopping down $2000 at disney, so please treat my like crap! I had lots of other ADR's to make, but I just told him that was all and then hung up and called the dining line to speak with someone else. I've never actually had that sort of conversation with a CM at CRO. They have always been very accommodating and understanding of my requests. I guess he was just having a bad day (or maybe I was--dd also had the stomach flu and I had 2 ear infections!).

That's actually not true, we make requests before hand almost every time, whether it's to get a specific room or a specific building in a resort and it's always been honored and acknowledged when we arrived without us even asking about it.

The disney agent said that it was a good idea to put in my request when booking???

Thanks, my sister and I are planning a grand gathering of 12 this year, last trip I was the solo planner for our grand gathering and was referred to as the "Trip Nazi." But my family loved the trip:woohoo:! Thinking of making a shirt that says...Follow the leader..the leader..where ever she tells you to go!! :dance3:

Well, yes, it's on the paper - but they don't do anything about until you actually check-in.

actually, the room assignors start assigning rooms about 2 days in advance. It most cases you have a room assigned to you at least 24 hrs before arrival. Although they do not HAVE to try to accomadate your request most will try to comply with any request that is already listed on the reservation. You take your chances that your request is still available if you wait untill you check in to make it. You are much more likely to get your request by asking in advance. Your room assignment can be changed at check in but only if there is an availiblity where you want to be.
