Hello

Tell me about your experience with Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party! :stir:

What rides are open? What kind of treats are given out (any good)?

My husband and my 15 year old want to go. Mostly for character pictures and shows. What kind of shows are there?

Any thing else you want to mention is appreciated.

Thank you! :cloud9: :wizard:

We go every year. Started our costumes for this year's party in January. :rotfl: Here is a great write up on last year's party...

I went with my 13 year old daughter in 2012 and we LOVED it! We mainly went for rides and the trick-or-treating. It was great. Wait times no more than 15-20 mins for anything and the parade was great (and we are NOT parade people). Didn't get to see the Headless Horseman because it had poured and it was too wet for him to ride safely, and we were disappointed, but it really was awesome.

So cool. Thank you for your reply. We are thinking of going late October. Hope it doesn't rain on us.

I'm so excited for the Food and Wine Festival too at Epcot!

Awesome link! Thank you so much!

The candy they hand out, is it Disney or Mickey candy or just like snickers and stuff?

Also, are there any restrictions to costumes?

Mostly normal candy, with a few treats from Goofy's Candy Co. mixed in. The costume rules are in the first post (written in red) of my guest list thread (the 2nd link up in my previous post).

It is amazing and my favorite experience at WDW so far. Dress up! It makes it so much fun! Also, you will get special attention from so many CMs and guests. It really is worth it. We decided to not do many character pictures (besides Cinderella because I was cinderella and DH was prince charming) but we had a blast. Ride times weren't terrible for us, I assume because so many people were waiting for characters. Be sure to watch Hallowishes, it's great!

Went September 2013 and LOVED it. Was 2 adults and one child and we dressed up at the ninja turtles . The amount of candy they gave out was awesome.. Literally had some left through the holidays. Even if you went to go on the rides alone and not trick or treat it was worth the money as there was virtually NO wait! Not every ride us open but pretty much all the good ones. And last. But not least ... The forewords were amazig!!!! Going off in literally every direction in the sky you could look. Can't wait to go again!!

Wow, ninja turtles! That's awesome!

I am so excited. Now I'm on the hunt for a good costume.

I heard you can enter the park at 4pm! princess:

How is the weather in October??? Anyone know?

We are going for the first time this year... so excited!

We went two years ago - actually it was a really last minute thing we didn't even have costumes. It was worth the extra just for the rides alone - the parks aren't open as late as during the summer so it was nice to be in the park late and there was no wait for any of the rides. Also it's so much cooler at night, no sweating in the hot sun! The parade is also awesome and they do a special fireworks show - I thought it was cool. :) The candy wasn't anything special in my personal opinion...I mean they give you boat loads of it but it was like a lot of dollar store hard candy. Still - we are doing it again this year and going to do it right with costumes!! LOL!

We had a lot of fun... the atmosphere in the park is fantastic and lines were all very short. We road space mountain 3-4 times in a row, for example... without a wait. The parade viewing was pretty crowded but otherwise, was a lot of fun. We had lots of candy... things like peeps, candy bars, cookies, etc...

That's awesome! I've been to the Christmas party last year and it was well worth it! The shows and dance parties are the best part. I can only imagine how it will be at Halloween time with everyone dressed up! :stitch2:

:hmghost:

I've gone solo 4 times so far and am planning my 5th time. I need a cool and comfortable costume that makes me think Villian so that will take some planning. LOL

I love meeting the rare characters, watching the parade and fireworks and the villians show.

Trick or treat is ok - I usually do it a couple of times just to get some candy to snack on. Last year they had some good chocolate. The year before when I went I didn't think the candy was as good.

best disney party ever......:thumbsup2

Where else can a grown woman dress like snow white and have people tell her she looks like a princess :goodvibes

must dos to us are the opening parade, villain show, trick or treat was fun.

We kinda go with the flow, we do the rides if we feel like it, we do the dance party in tomorrow land.

First Halloween party we stopped at Caribbean bathroom to rest a min, "the captain hook" showed up and chased/stocked my little daughter (dressed as tinkerbell) for over 10 mins we played. hubby grabbed a sword in the shop and they had a duel, till gang of pirates showed up and defeated hook and he ran away.

Yes, you can enter starting at 4, but regular park guests don't have to leave until 7, so it slows down more after then. Costumes are a definite DO and make sure you meet and greet some of the villains and other characters that you can't meet other times. The dance parties are fun, especially for kids, since there's basically no limit to your character interaction time and it's much less formal than the usual pics and autographs.

My word of advice - eat well before you go and plan on only a quick CS or snacking while you're there. You really want to maximize on the short ride lines and exclusive activities rather than sitting at a meal, for the ticket price!

The parade and fireworks are the best parts of the party. Trick or treating is fun too!

Can anyone tell me is there a difference between the 1st and 2nd parade each night? Or what the advantages or disadvantages are to each one?

No difference in the parades, but the second parade is MUCH less crowded, especially when viewed from Frontierland. :thumbsup2
