Any one been on every cruise ship?

We did the Wish last Summer and loved it. Next summer we are doing the Magic. Where would you rank both of these ships in your order? Any info you can give me on the Magic? Any knowledge you can give me would be great. Thank you!

The Magic is my favorite but I wonder if it will feel underwhelming having been on the Wish first.

There is just WAY less to do, which I think is fantastic because it creates a peaceful and intimate atmosphere. Dinner is just slightly more relaxed, elevators are just slightly less crowded, Cabanas is just slightly more manageable, etc.

My favorite thing about the Magic is that Deck 10 (the top deck) is all-ages, and you can walk all the way around the ship. So in the evenings, before or after dinner when we're in our dinner clothes but haven't started any evening activities yet, you can go up there in the fresh air and have what feels like the whole ship to yourself.

Not to say one is better than the other; there are people who prefer the Magic and others who prefer the Wish. But they are very different. In my opinion, any DCL ship is going to be great. I would just say, go in with an open mind knowing it's going to be a very different experience.

2. The Magic is the oldest, but it is extremely well-maintained. She's in better condition that ships half her age.

Yup. And, purely by accident we've done them all in the order they were launched. Going to add the Treasure in January of 2025. Our favorite is still the Magic, partly for sentimental reasons being the first cruise ship we were ever on, and our introduction to DVC (bought AKL Kidani Village on our first cruise), and partly because we enjoy the intimacy of the smaller ships. That being said, there is not a ship in the fleet that we would not happily board for our next cruise adventure!

Yes, thank you. I meant to specifically mention that the Magic, while being the oldest, doesn't really look it (at least from what I've heard).

Been on all 5 and the WONDER is our favorite. Don't know why, but the service level is the best in our opinion.

For me, the Dream and Fantasy are basically tied for the top spot. I haven't been on the Magic or Wonder since they have been updated but before that I would say they are comparable for my second choice (Wonder gets an edge for sentimental reasons). The Wish is definitely my last choice and I will put the Treasure tied with that as it seems to have the same big things that bothered me about the Wish.

For me, I swing Wonder, Fantasy, then either the Dream or Magic followed by the other, as we haven't sailed on either in a LONG time so I'm not sure, then Wish. We're sailing on the Dream next, then the Treasure. I hope to sail on the Magic again sometime too. We haven't sailed on her since the last dry dock which changed some things! My husband would say the Fantasy his his favorite.

We've been on all five ships, and we will be on the Treasure shortly after its maiden voyage. We love them all. I might put the Dream/Fantasy class slightly higher than the others, but its really too close to call. Basically, our philosophy is that best ship is the one you are on. Just go out and enjoy your cruise.

I was talking with my 28 yo niece the other day about another cruise. She started cruising at age 12 and has only done DCL.

She doesn’t read reviews, but her dislikes of the Wish were pretty close to a lot I’ve read - and they are mainly layout. She says it is counterintuitive on how to get places (and her brain is a bit foggy already).

Her mother is booked on the Treasure, having done the rest. Knowing it’s a sister to the Wish, she was happy to book the next ship. Her favorite is the Fantasy.

I haven’t tried the Wish, but yes to the Grand Slam (MWDF) and other cruise lines and various ships within those companies.

For my purposes, the ship is just one aspect of the cruise vacation. And I haven’t been on a ship whose layout or decor ruined my trip. The itinerary and the overall vibe are bigger determinants of my happiness.

I find a Disney cruise fairly similar across the fleet. Adult activities are not raunchy. Drinking is not an activity - it’s a beverage to compliment an activity. Music is not loud and pounding. No bellyflop contests or college frat-party games. Production shows are mostly excellent (I have a few I don’t enjoy, but others love).

You will get different menus and some more food options (especially Pool Deck QS) on the Wish.

If you like new and less drab (all that white interior on the Wish is, in the older ships, more cream and medium-dark wood/ nautical) and if that is a breaking point for your vacation happiness, stick with Triton class (Wish, Treasure, Destiny). If you enjoy the overall Disney cruise experience and another ship is the right itinerary, date, and price, you could consider it.

Do I have a favorite? Not really, but I have cruised many times. There is not one I wouldn’t recommend.

*I don’t travel with kids, so no idea if the kids’ areas are significantly different. But even that is personal preference to the kid.

I think this, exactly. We tend to favor the Fanatsy, but I think that's because it has been where we've done our longest cruises and we prefer longer. We've sailed all of them and as someone mentioned earlier, I'd happily board any one of them again - the sooner, the better!

It's been a while since I've seen anything like this but DCL did have these kinds of games for adults in the past. I had forgotten about them, but I know I've witnessed a belly flop contest, pass the orange (or was it banana?), among others. Those were on the Magic and Wonder though. I don't think I've seen them on the newer ships.

We've been on the original first 4--the grand slam. We have not been on the Wish

For the Magic, we love the theater shows, especially Twice Charmed and Tangled. Love the Rapunzel main dining room as well! I prefer the layout of the adult areas on the Magic/Wonder over Dream/Fantasy. It is very easy to get around on the Magic/Wonder since they hold a max of 2600 vs 4000 for the big ships.

Out of the five the Magic is my nostalgic favorite for it's classic ocean liner design, the best itineraries, Rapunzel show, and overall coziness. But I also appreciate the totally different fantasy castle direction that they went with the Wish. It's like equally loving my two dogs for their opposite personalities.

I haven't been on all of them but the Wonder is my favorite. First ever cruise (on or off DCL) so it's sentimental, and there was a cozy feel to it. I know I'm not the only one who feels that way.

I am trying to get on the Dream or Fantasy next. I will eventually go on the Wish class, but the Wish is only doing 3/4 Bahamas right now and the Treasure will need to get over some growing pains that all ships go through before I sail on her.

Pass the orange. Maybe it was on Disney. Along with Match Your Mate. But other cruise lines push it to more R-rated comedians and activities.

I tend to blur my memory of things I don’t appreciate.
